Gary Johnson was on the The Josh Tolley Show today and stated he was not only committed to the Free and Equal debate but also he was for ending the FED and shutting down overseas military bases! (I think he read Trevor Lymans letter to him!)

Governor Johnson will be debating Green Party candidate Jill Stein and the Constitution Party's Virgil Goode. No word yet if Obamney have responded to their invites...

And show Josh Tolley some love! Supporting great liberty media with Josh's broad appeal is one of our tickets to victory!

Viva la r3volution!

He will be there alone then. The puppet show will never agree to that debate.

At first I was like-"HUH?" Then I was like "Meh."

I mean seriously. You think either Mittens or Obombya are going to attend, or even that the media will pay attention?

Man, this would be pretty cool to have all the other parties in a debate.
Sure, Barr was an asshat, but he had a good idea when he did the Tivo debate, where he paused Obama and McCain's debate to interject his answers.
(Too bad the Tivo didn't work, though.)
So I'd be a fan of rump debates. Don't invite the other candidates? Fine - have the other candidates have open debates completely separate from the D&R dog & pony shows. Hell, have like ten of 'em! And make sure the moderator announces before each and every one that the other guys were invited and didn't even respond.

No, pointless as far as anyone actually getting elected president.

I think this is the same third party debate they had in 2008. Obama and McCain were invited, but only attended their 'party sanctioned' debates.

They usually show at least one of these "third party" debates on C-span.

I guess it's better than nothing, but I'd sure like to see Gary Johnson debating Beavis and Butthead in the "real" debates.

That's awesome news!

I would love for them to some how work President Obama and Romney's various statements into the debate. Maybe have 2 empty podiums with monitors sitting behind them. Whenever it is their turn to "answer" a question, they can just run a clip from the candidates numerous recorded sound bites.

So Bob Barr did come up with at least one good idea! As for all of the "the big boys won't show up" folks, so what? Good for Gary Johnson being in this one. Good for Virgil Goode and the green candidate as well! What we should do is put these debates up on local cable access channels.

Good luck with Mr. "Humanitarian Wars"

Do you honestly believe that Gary Johnson, as President, would start fighting a bunch "humanitarian wars" around the globe, or do you think makes those statements to seem more "sensible" to the "average person" who also believes in "humantarian wars"?

It's not like Gary Johnson thinks any of the wars we are involved in currently are humanitarian wars, so at least all of those would end. I don't think he would be one to go look for dragons to slay.

Well Gary Johnson isn't going to be president, so what he would do as president is moot. The "humanitarian war" problem is what happens in the debates when he's asked that question? Will the idea of "humanitarian war" be forever linked with libertarianism? And the idea isn't "sensible" to the average person that supports either Obama or Romney why it's okay for Gary Johnson to want to fight a war in Uganda but not in Libya (Obama doctrine) or Iraq/Afghanistan (Bush doctrine).

That said, I still think this is a good (and totally expected) development.

He said he wanted to go after Joseph KONY.... need I say more?

Deceiving thread title is deceiving.

-rep

How is the title deceiving? He was invited to, and will be participating in, a debate.

Guys crying about how it will not be televised or talked about by MSM.. THE REVOLUTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED!
Haven't we learned that yet? Flood the internet with it, like we had to do with Ron Paul.. its not that hard.

It really isn't about Gary, Virgil, or Jill. Its about presidential debate OF ANY KIND from players without marionette strings. I think its wonderful, more power to them. I get my news via the internet and I haven't hat a TV in over 10 years. Viva la Revolution.

It's *nice* to have debates. This is a good thing. *BUT* the title of the thread is still deceiving, and I've had my thread titles "corrected" for a lot less. We're all waiting on pins and needles to hear good news on Gary Johnson getting access to the Romney/Obama debates, so when a thread comes along titled:

"Gary Johnson Will Be In A Debate!"

We have every right to expect something better than "yeah, check it out he's debating the also-rans".
