Gary Johnson signs "prominent Republicans" letter endorsing gay marriage; back in GOP?

how many people you know have been governor of a state for 8 years?
that is prominent. a lot of people have to support you to achieve that feat.

Not really. How many governors are there you've never heard of, exactly?

That said I'd give Johnson "prominence" in that he was a national name, sort of.

I'd say status as a governor, past or present, provides some variation of prominence in a political party. A former governor's signature on something certainly carries with it more recognition than the average guy who has never held office.

It's not as if Gary Johnson was the best governor ever, but he was a two term governor. No small accomplishment there.

I'm pretty sure this is conservatives not Republicans.

In any case, it means nothing. The only thing it impacts is New Jersey (since Gov. Whitman, possibly one of the best Govs in the last 100 years, endorses equality)
