Gary Johnson on 2012: Cites Paul movement and apathetic pot smokers 4 poor results

A transformational figure? The only transformational figure I know of is Newt Gingrich.

That he blames the Paul campaign is ridiculous, the only reason he did as well as he did is because of the Paul campaign raising awareness of libertarianism.

Blames everyone but himself.
Ron Paul supporters did not care for his lack of principles.. and utilitarian approach..
and backing the Phony Kony witch-hunt didn't help him either.

And the Apathetic Pot smokers have been getting laws changed across the country. They just didn't buy his shit.

why is this guy even relevant?

The media buried every single part of the liberty movement, why are people still trying to figure out WHY its not bigger?

Gary's problem is that he doesn't seem very interested in the educational aspects of liberty. Ron seeking to educate is really the only way I ever became aware of and interested in his philosophy/worldview. Gary just runs around saying "fiscally conservative, socially tolerant" and "I'll let you smoke all the pot you want" and expects people to go to him with the enthusiasm that Ron received. It just doesn't work that way.

I never liked gary johnson from listening to him. but I thought he had a good wikipedia page and good credentials - the construction company.

Yep, Gary is too high and mighty to really be effective anymore. He probably thought that the Paul campaign would fizzle out and then millions would come pouring into Gary's coffers which would then translate into 5-10% of the vote. If he had a clue, it was well known that Ron was pushing for his people to stack up and grow the libertarian wing of the GOP. Gary had a chance to save himself for a nice and comfy Senate seat but apparently that's beneath him. Sad, cause he would've made a nice addition to the Senate but now he's stuck in Libertarian Partyville.

His response whenever someone asks him about a Senate run is the most annoying part.

1) He criticizes libertarian Republicans as fake libertarians for not being socially liberal enough and supporting the 10th amendment
2) He says he couldn't be a Senator because he couldn't "bring home the bacon" which is somehow necessary for a Senator, as if Rand, Cruz and Lee were continuously bringing home the bacon

He did this on RT, on FreedomWorks on Tap, on his Google+ Hangouts and a few other places.

Sounds exactly like someone that hangs out in the Libertarian Party.

Johnson wouldn't of received even half as many votes without Ron Paul.

Gary Johnson said:
“We really thought, last cycle that, 100 million marijuana smokers, man, each one of them has to give me a dollar and we’ve got the money twofold,” he explained. “Well, that didn’t happen at all. Zero. Just zero.”

LOL I bet this sounded brilliant to him when he was high.

I am a classical liberal -- fiscally conservative and socially accepting/tolerant. Sen. Paul may not be as accepting/tolerant as I am on social issues.

Bashing Rand won't get you anywhere in the liberty movement, Gary. Embrace him or be doomed to the fringe.

Here's his table of answers: http://www.reddit.com/r/tabled/comments/1fp8mm/

One good answer:

What do you think of Nigel Farage?

I am a big fan.

The second he said we should replace the income tax with a 30%+ sales tax, then give poor people a check every month to cover their share of the tax, that was it for me.

Johnson thinks there are 100 million marijuana smokers in the U.S.?

Friedman's negative income tax.

GJ was never an Austrian.

Sounds more like a shot at Ron Paul's earmarks.
