Just back from the Brenham fundraiser.
FABULOUS speech, y'all.
Dr. Paul spent quite a lot of time talking to everyone beforehand, answering questions and the like.
He took questions at the end of his speech, too.
AND, before he left, he spent EVEN MORE time talking with everyone.
Not as in walking down a preformed line and shaking hands, just standing around chatting about whatever was brought up.
There was one person who asked a question and identified himself as a Democrat, told Dr. Paul that he started checking him out I think he said after the second debate, and he said he really had liked what he heard in the speech today.
Dr. Paul spoke about how the freedom message is one that has the ability to draw us all together: there are democrats that can embrace it, independents that can embrace it, and some republicans that can embrace it.
It was really nice IMO because it was a small group - maybe 100 of us there?
I told him I thought he did great in the debates, he said, oh, I don't think I did so good in the second one, or at least I thought so at first, but about an hour afterwards, I realized that it was okay.
(I didn't tell him this but IMO, his refusal to back down from his beliefs - when under IMMENSE PRESSURE to do so, and the way he maintained himself as a GENTLEMAN in light of the attacks - right down to his comment to that vile Hannity person about how he'd be DELIGHTED to debate Benito Giuliana - were "PERFECT PAUL." And america is loving it.)
Someone videotaped it so we may get some youtube moments out of it, I sure hope so!
