This is a really lame hit-piece by the Freep. Would be nice if we could get some comments on it in favor of Bentivolio.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

If *that* is "selling out" then I say we need a hell of a lot more sellouts in Congress.

I thought Norquist was a good guy....

I guess I'm a sellout too.

The real sellouts are the ones breaking their Norquist pledge, like Graham and Chambliss.

Selling out by pledging to not raise taxes and send more money to those corrupt s***-bags in Washington?

Sounds great to me! Go Kerry!

I say its a rookie mistake if this is true

Bentivolio didn't say he would check about the wishes of his constituents, but instead said he would check with the unelected ideologue

And republicans should stop being so defensive about tax increases of the rich. Seeing as they do an awful job of defending tax increases of the poor. Inflation is the worst kind of tax to poor people. If you are on a fixed income, live paycheck to paycheck or have few products that appreciate with inflation, this type of tax which the republicans will never defend the way the defend tax increase for the rich dis proportionally affects you. Your expenses increases and your income stays the same, these people are really suffering

I'd say that Kerry was jumping at the chance to prove himself to the RP crowd by publicly aligning himself with such a pledge. I'm confident he'll do the usual tasks for constituents but standing out as a fiscal hawk is what will help him fend off a primary challenge. He'll need outside money to make up for the local establishment's challenger.
