FreedomWorks PAC Endorses Kerry Bentivolio for Congress in Michigan's 11th District

WASHINGTON, Aug. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- FreedomWorks PAC announced its endorsement of Kerry Bentivolio for Congress in Michigan's 11th District. Through in-depth one-on-one discussions with Kerry Bentivolio, a review of the candidates in the race, and input from FreedomWorks PAC members in the district, FreedomWorks PAC believes Kerry Bentivolio is the clear choice for voters who support free markets, fiscal responsibility, and constitutionally limited-government.

Kerry Bentivolio is a teacher, entrepreneur, and veteran with a strong commitment to defending America from the crushing burden of debt and economic stagnation. To set America back on the path to prosperity, Bentivolio understands that individuals must be free to keep the fruits of their labor and to pursue their dreams without the barriers of government red tape.

If elected to Congress, Bentivolio pledged to help restore the limits to government set forth in the Constitution, and to base his votes upon the principles of America's founding documents.

"Bentivolio is exactly the kind of representative America needs in Congress right now – a strong, common-sense advocate for liberty," said Max Pappas, Executive Director for FreedomWorks PAC. "As a dedicated citizen activist, Bentivolio had the conviction to take on an entrenched incumbent when no one else would."

Pappas continued, "Bentivolio understands the need to get government out from between entrepreneurs and their customers in order to let their businesses prosper and create much-needed jobs here in America. He stands for letting the free market -not the government- pick winners and losers in the economy. And he will fight to get rid of the Washington culture of bailouts and corporate welfare."

To date, FreedomWorks PAC has endorsed the following candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives: Andy Barr (KY-06), Ann Marie Buerkle (NY-24), Mike Coffman (CO-06), Kevin Cramer (ND-At Large), Ron DeSantis (FL-06), Ron Gould (AZ-04), Adam Hasner (FL-22), Steve King (IA-04), Jeff Landry (LA-03), Mia Love (UT-04), Thomas Massie (KY-04), Mark Meadows (NC-11), Robert Pittenger (NC-09), Jason Plummer (IL-12), Keith Rothfus (PA-12), David Schweikert (AZ-06), Ann Wagner (MO-02), Jackie Walorski (IN-02), Joe Walsh (IL-08), Allen West (FL-18), and Martha Zoller (GA-09).

FreedomWorks PAC is a grassroots service center for over 2 million activists nationwide dedicated to fighting for lower taxes, less government, and more freedom in every Congressional district in America. What is the Tea Party presence like in Michigan 11?

Probably nonexistent, honestly.

Living across the river from the area, it sounds like its one of the rich Detroit suburbs that is incredibly pro-establishment and pro-status quo. If it was a "fair" election between Bentivolio and Cassis, he'd likely lose in a landslide. Fortunately for us, the odds of a write in candidate winning in a place like that are infinitesimal and we aren't short on money or anything.

Awesome! Anyone know what kind of money they may spend?

We should meet fire with fire and brainstorm techniques to be used at the polls against her... Maybe something to confuse people. Who knows

i wonder if FW will pump any money in the race? Now that LFA just pumped in another 300K today i doubt it, but i'm really sweating this race!

What's next, I can see Palin getting in on the fun late a la Cruz.

Freedomworks endorsed Steve King... wow... the guy is good on some issues. But when you vote for NDAA and the Patriot Act extension you're not really pro-constitution.
