News Corporation, Faux New$, and Greed
Rupert Murdoch's New York Post is a money loser and I guess these idiots underestimated the support in the grassroots for Dr. Paul. While their propagandists like Hannity, Gibson, and O'Reilly will never admit Dr. Paul was right in the exchange with Giuliani, I suppose they might fear a loss of a substantial number of viewers if they are perceived as being unfair to Dr. Paul, a true conservative.
For the most part, Fox is "news-tainment" and Hannity and O'Reilly and their ilk will always maintain a core viewership of sincere, but misinformed or uninformed people that are ripe to receive their propaganda. If Fox loses their perceived "conservative" (sic) flavor, they will fade from the cable news forefront into the ratings abyss like CNN and MSNBC.
Although the talking heads on Fox won't acknowledge it, the results of their text message poll after the debate must have been very frightening to them and I blitzed Fox with e-mails expressing my disapproval of Hannity and the network in general in their coverage of Dr. Paul.
I hope lots of other Ron Paul supporters blitzed Faux New$ with e-mails of disapproval, too.
