Been piss warm all winter long, no ice racing on the lakes, barely got snowmobiling going last week, ice fishing the same.

Won't last long, but finally getting a little taste of winter for a change.

-15 real temp at my house right now, clear and windy.

I'm about an hour away from Mt. Washington.

Here's the NWS forecast for Mt. Washington tonight:

Scattered snow showers before 9pm. Patchy blowing snow. Partly cloudy, with a low around -46. Very windy, with a northwest wind 85 to 95 mph increasing to 100 to 110 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 135 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

LOL - The wind chill calculators at NWS stop at 110 mph.

At 105 MPH and -45F the wind chill computes to -108F

Stove is burning hard and I've got an Aladdin mantle lamp going in my office, not so much for light but for heat.

Got to -20 at my place.

Mt. Washington is as cold as Mars as record-breaking wind chills clock in at 110 BELOW ZERO

There's cold, and then there's this:
That's right, last night the temp on New Hampshire's Mount Washington clocked in at 110 degrees below zero, including wind chill!

That is unfathomable cold, and it happens to be the coldest temperature ever recorded in U.S. history.

Meanwhile, temperatures on the surface of Mars reached a high of 16 degrees this week, with a low of – 105, according to NASA.

Insert global warming joke here.

Winter may be coming to an end here . Last night was in the teens as the past five days but no more in the forecast going forward under 20 . I'll take it. I jacked up the tendon that runs down my left shoulder blade last yr and of course at my age the healing is a slower process . Made my firewood operation here at the cottage in the woods ( has become my full time retirement home )a little less enjoyable. I dont use much if it stays over 20 so I'm good I think . Just when you think things are looking up , Fri nigt the air space of my territory was violated by a chicom spy baloon . The evansville police said they had no means to take anything at 60k feet down. Seems to me that if I had been unrestricted in arms That I could have lent them or that county something to take it down with . One day you got Guatemalens invading next thing you know your under attack from chicoms. WTF has the fed govt been doing with the tax dollars ?

And this is why I could not live in N.H. It takes a special breed and I'm not from that line.
