The Philippines is traditionally supportive of the Democratic Party due to all the foreign aid it doles out on us, but this time, some of us are asking... what's the price for this largesse?

Let's deal as equals. Free trade. Friendship. No more gifts with strings attatched. No more foreign aid or military aid!

Our mission is to mobilize the global Filipino community, their families, and friends to assist in securing the 2008 Republican nomination for Texas Representative Dr. Ron Paul.

We ask that every American expatriate in the Philippines, every Filipino with US citizenship, every Filipino family with at least one relative or friend in the United States who is elligible to vote....

...To register as a Republican for their state primaries and vote for Dr. Ron Paul.

There's not much we can do for New Hampshire and Iowa, but you can be sure that we'll be there for Super Tuesday!

Filipinos can be found in almost every country in the world. As you can tell, we got a lot of friends... and we'll try to get as many of them to assist Dr. Paul in getting the expat vote!

Don't forget, back home Filipinos generally vote en bloc and are known to overthrow presidents on principle. Let them know about the USCCB voting guidelines and get the word out.

Much of Filipino society works as a network of families and friends. We don't trust pundits or government people or experts. But if we can get one person to vouch for Ron Paul to his or her family, more or less the whole group will assist because it becomes a family matter.

We want to hear your personal testimonies, why you support Ron Paul, how his Presidency is something family and clan should consider very seriously.

We have est. 4+ million Filipinos across the US (not sure about US territories like Guam and Puerto Rico) but we've always been low-key. We only rise up when public outrage becomes too great, but that uprising usually topples governments.

Too expensive. At this point we have less than 20 people "mildly interested," including a couple of expats around two meet-ups.

The Cebu group seems to be a bit more organized. I'm with the Manila group and we managed to scrap around six guys (only one elligible voter).

Let me explain why Filipino-Americans should vote for Dr. Ron Paul, in a way that Filipinos can truly understand.

Dr. Paul will reduce the size of the INS, and bring back efficiency by fixing the obviously broken system.

Dr. Paul is not an isolationist. He is for Americans freely traveling and trading overseas. Thus the same is true in reverse. Dr. Paul will not prevent people from coming over here legally to visit family and friends - or to do business.

Dr. Paul will bring back rational thinking to the visa process.

Dr. Paul knows that there are only a handful of extremists and he will be far more welcoming of legal visitors than the current administration or any other candidate for President.

If Filipino-Americans vote for any other candidate other than Dr. Paul, it will be much, much more difficult for Filipinos to get visas enter the United States.

Dr. Paul is the champion of freedom and the United States Constitution. He believes in the value of the individual, and he does not discriminate.

These are the primary reasons why Filipinos should vote for Ron Paul.

IMHO, the Philippines is the only southeast asian country fully supportive of the American people. No one will forget that Filipinos and Americans fought valiantly together in Bataan and the Leyte Gulf.

Nah. We got no problems. We just don't know how to use the website tools very well. A few links aren't fully active yet. We'll probably spring for a better site, maybe even use vbulletin, but only when we get a little bigger. For now, this is just to show people that we're here.

As for your article, if its too long, just chop it up and post it in pieces.

What I want to do is show you guys why Filipino Americans should be actively courted by the Ron Paul campaign. I will also try to explain the FilAm position so that when you do meet up with a potential prospect, you don't scare him off.

Going up to a Filipino cold will not do anything. He will smile, listen, accept a pamphlet or two, and maybe even promise to look at whatever website you want him to. And while you may think you've gotten to him, most likely he's going to junk your handout as soon as he gets home.

Besides, while the immigration thing is nice, what we really want is for the US to fulfill their promises and grant citizenship and back pay to the Filipino WWII veterans who fought for the United States. These are old guys who are in their 90s+ who are living in poverty, but are still waiting patiently.

When we see America doing this to allies and the elderly veterans, we know we can't trust you.

It isn't much. Just reward those who shed blood for the America.

We also want a return of the war booty taken by the US Army during the 1899-1902 military occupation. Two church bells. That's it!

Most of this stuff is in treaty or in the docket already. If you can get Dr. Paul to voice those concerns, you will have secured a 4 million person base.

Please write or speak with the Catholic Bishop in Filipines ask them to please request the Pope to ask the US to remove its troops from foreign soil or endorse Ron Pauls position on this. Also note endorsement By Roe of Roe vs Wade..60 Million Catholics in the US take their orders from the Pope!!!!!

Well, the campaign is over and the original "Philippines for Ron Paul" website didn't get much response. Sad, but understandable really.

Anyway, with the Ron Paul campaign transitioning into the Campaign for Liberty, so too are we.

Our new site is "The New Commonwealth, " an on-line newspaper and Internet portal offering traditional perspectives and political-economic solutions to current events in the Philippines. "Libertarianism with Filipino characteristics," to paraphrase a well known quote.

Its nothing but blogs and links right now, but we hope to have something like mises.org or lewrockwell.com so Filipinos can see that there is an alternative possible for the country, not just liberty as a "foreign thing."
