The last spark from the torch passed down to us by the founding fathers has been extinguished. The long darkness will now begin.

NO!

Go read the optimistic thread. All of it!

The long darkness will not begin until you and I give up this fight!

Good grief. Excessive negativity and despair. Channel it and if you truly believe that, at least resolve to go down fighting with the rest of us.

Dude, poetic, but a bit on the depressed side. Anyway, is this going to be like after we were all depressed after Iowa and NH then we sprung back? Or is this different. Man, Ron really needs to seriously start thinking 3rd party.

You may be right. You're certainly entitled to be a little pessimistic. I don't think we're obligated to be happy all the time considering the bullcrap we see. But, you just keep fighting till you win or die. Maybe it's over. Maybe we'll never win, but you just fight until you die or win.

The flame was pissed on by senile old Senior Citizens who want their Social Security Checks and Medicare. Long live the Socialist Revolution of the 1930's!

Oh and don't take this as me being negative. I'm still in this 110%. We can't let this die. But what I just stated is what we are up against.

They paid into the system for many, many years. Don't they deserve to receive the benefits now? It isn't their fault the government spent the damn money.

Nastiest post of the year.

Actually, it is their fault for not electing better officials. I have no problem blaming them for continuing this farce.

They should have seen the problems they were going to create. If you're under 40 right now you're probably not going to get social security, or you will end up having to pay a ton more so that the baby boomers can their social security. You and I are going to be the ones paying into it and not receiving our benefits. What are we going to do? Shaft our kids and our kids kids so we can get our benefits?

They should have realized it was a failed system from the start and ended it. It wasn't forced on them by the government. They voted for the idiots in government that forced it on them.

Those who paid in deserve it. But the first recipients of the social security program didn't pay a dime. They STOLE it from the rest of the citizens, and left a tangled socialist mess for their posterity.

I feel sorry for anyone that thought Ron Paul was our only last chance....
Even if Ron Paul won, it would take X amount of years to fix the problem, that it took X amount of years to get in this problem. So keep your head up and keep fighting. Your post is exactly what the elite love to here, defeat and no opposition.

"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly;
you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival.
There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Winston Churchill

Well, OF COURSE they want their SS Checks and Medicare. They spent their adult lives paying into it. What part of that are you people not getting?
