Thought it would be fun to end the year with a bit of nostalgia. What was your most memorable Ron Paul moment of 2007? Here's mine:

December 16th, 2007 - Standing at the steps of the State Capitol building before the sea of Ron Paul supporters that turned out for the event. we'd expected a few hundred people to turn up, and so we hadn't filed for a parade permit as that costs some bucks to get police escorts, etc. As we're looking out at the crowd with a bit of amazement, one of the police officers who showed up came up and told us that because there were so damn many of us, they'd called in motorcycle escorts to close off the side streets for us so we could march down Congress Avenue to the lake where we were going to re-enact the Tea Party. It was such a glorious feeling, not only that such a great crowd had turned out, but that our local police were doing their jobs and supporting us instead of harassing us. I felt like "yeah...this is how America should be!" It was such a complete moment -- everyone aligned behind the cause of freedom, a supportive government 00 everything that I envision a Ron Paul presidency will be like for the whole country.

Fox Tool: "So you're saying we should take our marching orders from Al'Qaeda? If they want us off the Arabian Peninsula?"
Ron Paul: "NO!"

Still gives me chills.

End of August, Ron Paul's birthday bash, my friend in the Paul family wanted to know if I wanted to ride down with them since their family wasn't going. Next thing I know I'm sitting at the freaking head table with Ron and Carol and their kids.

That was the best speech I've ever heard from him, and I don't think it's because of where I was sitting. I wish it had made it to youtube.

Marching in the TX Straw Poll parade a week later would be a near-tie for second, though.

Catching him live the evening of October 12 when did his stump speech at the NYC HQ. A rock star appearance!

Guess that would have to be mine as well, it was fun. :)

Waking up after the Tea Party and seeing over $18 million in the campaign coffers for the quarter. It was incredible validation of the massive power of our grassroots movement.

that exchange is historic, there's a few really good exchanges from that debate. I like when Huckabee tells RP we need to stay the course to protect our honor, and Ron says "how many more lives is it going to cost to save face???"

Romney: You have to sit down with your lawyers and see what you can do

Moderator: Congressman Paul, I wnat to bring you in. Do you think the President needs Congressional approval to go to war?

RP: Ah-Absolutely. All this discussion about going and talking to attorneys totally baffles me! Why don't we just open up the Constitution!? You're not allowed to go to war without a Declaration of war!
---

Runner up:

RP: NOO!! We should take our marching orders from our CONSTITUTION.
