I promised I would spread this around as best I could on my digital footprint but it's cool because I don't feel bad doing it.
A co-worker (she's an ultra sound tech) of my wife's from the hospital had brought her 8 year old daughter (Addison) in per an ER doctor's insistence after learning the girl was suffering from unbearable headaches and not able to get relief. Unfortunately, they found the cause....a 6cm tumor in her brain. Luckily both the mother and father have good insurance plans through their respective jobs but with a diagnosis like this those can stretch thin pretty fast.
I feel it's important to state that they haven't asked anyone for a dime. Another fellow co-worker realized that just costs of day to day, travel to Birmingham, missed work, ect were starting to affect the family across several different angles, so she set up a GoFundMe page for them. It can be found here:

The picture of Addison on the page is accurate, albeit minus her hair. The only time she isn't just as happy go lucky as you'd want from an 8 year old is after chemo...mainly affecting her appetite. It's made worse since she lost 20lbs before the chemo even started due to her tumor. If you can sling a buck or two it's really awesome. If you can't it's cool so don't feel bad or anything. Not trying to guilt trip anyone.
If you're on FB and would like to be able to send her a message you an go to the group, "Prayers For Addison James and Family". She loves to read messages (with some help from mom navigating FB for her) from all these people she doesn't know but are being her friends. If you're religious they also run an online prayer group from there.
Thanks
