Every now and then I'll find something that reminds me that there are one or two decent cops left out there. Here's to hoping that they grow a spine and oust corruption and help bring and end to the police state.

Officer does something nice. SHOCKING.
Imagine if the war on drugs was over, the kinds of good community things Cops could actually do. The war on drugs isn't the ONLY thing that makes cops running around and causing violence and being armed to the teeth and what not, but is probably the primary EXCUSE to be armed and full of SWAT teams and in attack mode every day.
If there was no war on drugs, and so cops had little excuse to be paramilitary, would it attract different people into the workforce? Would it be regular people who would want to help the community and maybe help kids, throw a football around with them, and be a part of the community and the people, not be a gestapo and enemy of the people?
I know it's a bit of an alternate reality but I'm dreaming a bit.
Would guys like Kelly Thomas be looked after instead of, "bashing his face to hell" by roided up cops, because there wouldn't be any need for cops like that to be walking around. Maybe they'd buy him a sandwich instead of shattering his face to death, "coz they were just following their training."
I hope the cop who spends quality time with kids is the real deal, I also hope for a day when the military cop is a thing of the ugly past.
