seemed aggravated - all saying I was the 3rd to 5th call they've gotten from Ron Paul supporters.

One guy was apparently a weak supporter, threatened not to caucus saying "Well I told the other guy three minutes ago I would DEFINITELY caucus UNLESS I keep getting calls".

I put him on do no call list. Tried to smooth things over.

10 out of 10 pickups so far said they'd already been contacted. I'm going to call the hotline about this as well.

Start by saying "I'm sorry if you've already been contacted our computer is having a few issues today. Have you already been contacted about attending the caucus tonight to vote for Ron Paul."

Then free lance from there or follow the script. If they are attending, ask them if they have any questions and make sure they know the location to go to.

In this situation you need to be a human friend with them and talk

I think we need more choices like 'not sure' because otherwise you have to pick one or the other, and people just not finish answering the question. Apologize profusely and say you'll tell the campaign, then post it on the phone from home facebook page. The original Ames one had a place you could put notes to the campaign which I know slows it down but would sure be nice.

I dont' know if you should put them on do not call though, we don't want the campaign to lose their contact number. Someone who knows the answer to that should post.

We decided it was best to start the call asking if they've already been called by the campaign about the caucuses tonight at 7.

There is NO fucking excuse for this. This could cause us everything!!

Good suggestion - that is actually what I started doing. But still they seemed annoyed and tired - these are probably people who wouldn't have voted but ... yeah. They all wanted to be added to the do not call list.

Also - couldn't get through to the hotline.
I'm wondering if its a enough is enough point yet ...

Look, at the end of the day all the politics will annoy many - from the constant TV ads, to the radio ads and to the phone calls.

I doubt it'll make much of a difference in terms of negative effect.

There's only what -- 100,000 caucus goers? I don't think this should be much of a surprise.

Its going to be ok. Problems always come up, they will be fixed.

Calling people that have already been called 5 or six times by Ron Paul people is not a little problem, it is a huge problem and there is not excuse for it. A system designed this badly would get someone fired in the private sector pronto.

This issue equivalent to what was happening during Senate campaign of Peter Schiff. I was a caller and many people were angry and said they would not vote because of all the calls they were getting. That was really bad, and I felt that the campaign had to do something about it.

Here's what the system should provide,
Once calling, choose if the person is undecided. That means that we will call him again. Once the person becomes decided we remove him from the list and goes on to the next caller.

Now, i'm very disappointed to hear this because it had a terrible negative effect under schiffs phone-bank system.

deliberate sabotage? jesus guys this is just a simple error that they were making. programs are not perfect.

Who made this system up?

I hate to say it but is there a chance of deliberate sabotage?

A ton of passionate people equals a lot of calls. It probably was not anticipated there would be this much effort for GOTV.

My bet is there are duplicate lists that are being called at numerous phone banks, plus PFH. They had no way of knowing how many people would actually participate. If there were this many participating in the Voter ID that has been going on for the past months they would have been prepared.
