It looks like Amazon isn’t the only one looking to use drones to help deliver products.

Police in Tijuana, Mexico say they’ve recovered a drone strapped with over six pounds of illegal methamphetamine after it crash-landed in a supermarket parking lot.

Tijuana police director Patricia Sida Wilkes said authorities were alerted after the drone fell on Tuesday night near the San Ysidro crossing at Mexico’s border with California.

Six packets of meth were discovered taped to the drone, with a combined weight of over 2.7 kilograms.

Now police are trying to determine who was responsible for setting the drug-laden drone aloft.

It’s not the first time drones have been used for smuggling drugs across the border.

Other innovative efforts have included catapults, ultralight aircraft and tunnels, such as the one authorities discovered in 2013 which contained a rail system, functioning lights, and a ventilation system.

That tunnel likewise originated in Tijuana.
