VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED, VERY GRAPHIC.

I saw that live today, nearly puked all over my carpet. It was a clean break, bone pierced through the skin and everything. I saw an HD picture of him laying on the floor with 3 inches of bone protruding through a giant hole in his mangled leg. Immediately went to grab my shins.

The picture is below, don't click if you're faint of heart.

:(

Apparently he's out of surgery and doing fine now. Thank god. His teammates reactions were amazing, lots of emotion. Watching the bench react like that right after noticing him on the ground gives me chills.

Saw this happen live. Absolutely gruesome.

Truly frightening to think how many hundreds of times I've made similar plays on the ball and then see something like this happen.

Nope. Not gonna do it. I'm not gonna watch the video or look at the picture.

I was watching when Joe Theismann & Tim Krumrie broke their legs. That was plenty for me.

And the OP makes this injury sound even more ugsome to see. No thank 'ee.

Compound fracture is compound.

Had to set one of those once.

Makes your balls tingle and shrivel up, don't it? (If you are a man, I'm not sure what that does to a woman.)

It almost made me throw up. Couldn't get it out of my mind all night long too. But the REALLY GOOD NEWS is...he says he's going to be just fine.

Athlete breaks bone on live TV -> Mass empathy.
Thousands of soldiers have limbs blown off -> Have to wait in line at the VA.

Something is wrong here.. I do hope this guy will recover swiftly, but I think it's a point worth noting in this topic.

Out of sight out of mind. If they showed replays of the birth defected, two headed babies on television all day long shit would change.

the video is down now due to CBS but i remember back in 02 or 03 when willis mcgahee (i believe) had a really bad leg injury in the Rose Bowl (i believe it was the rose bowl)

Video is taken down, only able to see the pic.

Did he stop too quick, or what?

Since it's topical, I will point out that there are worse things. This was sudden and traumatic, but the term "maggot infestation" comes up a lot with leg wounds in poor areas. For some reason that makes me far more ill than sudden trauma.
