Does anyone have experience with Young Americans for Liberty? (YAL)

Solid activist organization for young people that was launched out of Ron's campaigns. Not to be confused with Young Americans for Freedom, which iirc was a neocon co-opt attempt.

And welcome! You'll learn a lot here if you stick around but be aware that at times RPF is like a firehose of political knowledge. Many of us have been at this for awhile and you may be occasionally shocked by some of what you read. You have been warned.

YAL is absolutely amazing. I'm not sure if I've seen a more effective political organization or anything quite like it. In 2010, they came to Kentucky for training... and in 2-3 days the ones who volunteered for Rand reached 15,000 likely Republican voters door to door. That's not even counting phone calls (hundreds of thousands?) they made right before the election. I'm quite certain that they had a lot to do with Rand winning his primary by 24% and outperforming every poll despite taking on the whole establishment.

I'm sure your mileage will vary from chapter to chapter, and a few have rankled me (i.e. I was told some in KY supported McC over Bevin in 2014). But on the whole, they have been excellent and most impressive.

as elders. we should support them.

Do it! Why not? Right now is also the best time to join Students for Rand, you can join both simultaneously but just don't publicly use one to benefit the other, in other words "coordination".

Why? Its a good organization started by "us" and getting "our" message out there.

As always it makes sense to pay attention to what they are not talking about. I find it amusing they talk about Auditing the FED while no mention of something what should be way more important to them - non-dischargeable student debt. I am sure if you called them they would not be able to tell you why student loans can not be discharged in the bankruptcy court. When was the law voted on and which president signed it. To me this is another half assed effort in order to pacify the public.

Also their blog comment section is filled with spam http://www.yaliberty.org/posts/yes-college-is-too-expensive-but-forgiving-student-loans-won-t-fix-it
 
I still maintain they deflect students' attention by pushing the Abolish the Federal reserve agenda without talking about the student debt at all. The 600+ chapters claim is laughable as many of them were like 2 guys on a campus who, btw, graduated 4 years ago. The fact their blogs are full of spam comments is concerning as well.

"Students For Liberty" was the Koch/Globalist/neocon foreign policy organization formed to co-opt "Young Americans for Liberty". "Young Americans for Freedom" is much older, and long ago co-opted.

So, from a Ron/Rand perspective:

Students for Rand (SFR) and Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) are the good ones.

Haha... yes... Our chapter doesn't even have any members and isn't actually running, but they'd probably still claim our chapter.
