As California is set to raise the minimum wage for fast food workers to $20 an hour, a new report says Gavin Newsom exempted his campaign donor buddy from the law. Matt Christiansen breaks down the story.

With regard to the new minimum wage laws in CA, businesses that stay in business simply hire illegal immigrants and pay them under the table.

Not surprising that Newscum would be looking out for his donors. He doesn't want his friends business to suffer from this. There's probably other friends he's protecting as well.

Yes, Panera Bread guy bribed him. Someone in the NY Post comments section suggested that all of the other restaurants just start offering stand alone baked bread to fall under this carve out. I thought that was a great idea. That way they get exempted without having to pay the bribe.

The video in the OP explains why that will not work.

Ya, Peter Schiff tweeted out that it would be cheaper for McDonald's to start baking their own bread than pay $20/hr minimum wage, but somebody replied that the restaurant had to be baking their own bread back in 2023.
