British MPs have voted against possible military action against Syria to deter the use of chemical weapons.

David Cameron said it was clear the British Parliament does not want action and "I will act accordingly".

The government motion was defeated 285 to 272, a majority of 13 votes.

We just have to wait on France now to see if they are still going on with the planned strikes cos if they back out, the whole coalition is done. Nobody cares about Turkey and Jordan, they are second rate countries with lapdogs for leaders.

That vote was far too close. That percentage certainly does not reflect the will of the people.

Hopefully the people of the UK elect more members of the UKIP party to higher and higher places in UK government.

France has some kind of a parliamentary republic where the president does not need an approval of parliament to wage war.First time that I have heard a president to have such power outside of a dictatorships.

Justin Amash seems to think that congress doesn't have the votes to commit either, if Obama goes to the congress (and not just a committee).

That's great. But not by much.

Yes, but you go to imagine that the leadership pulled out all the stops, calling in all their favors and still did not get enough votes. And in this case, win is a win is a win.

Thank FKING goodness. Now if only our tyrant in command would listen to his constituents as well. I have a little bit more respect for the Brits. They stared at the abyss and took a step back which should be commended.
