An ad about a looming debt ceiling compromise is now useless.

Here is what I want see:

Ron Paul talking to a group of farmers about how he is opposed to the death tax, he has never voted for an unbalanced budget and he never voted to raise the debt ceiling.

Something like that, something that will win Iowa!

Honestly, I think the average voter is probably 1 week behind the news cycle anyways. Most people aren't fervently searching the internet for the latest news on the debt ceiling. But yes, a new ad is definitely overdue.

I suggested this like 3 days ago...some people seem to think the ad is still relevant...while the issue of debt still is...the ad has outlived its necessity...the public has moved on from the issue now...new ad please

its still o.k for a couple days especially since our debt outlook was just downgraded, i would however, like to see an ad about Ron talking about the economic crisis and how he saw it coming.

I can't wait to see the next ad they come up with ... I really hope they're on the ball and will have it out in the next day or two.

An ad with dated clips/speeches from years and years ago will SHOW people that he's seen it coming.

Called this issue with the ad a while ago and got flamed. I don't even see evidence the ad gained us support, either.

Are you kidding me?? The "Conviction" ad shows exactly what is happening in Washington today, and how Ron Paul predicted months ago that the "leaders" would fold, just as he's been accurately predicting the state of the economy correctly for 30-40 years! The compromise the House and Senate just passed screwed all of America, just as the ad implied it would. The ad is more meaningful and more poignant today than it's ever been.

Yea I agree if anything change some of the audio, saying once again the republicans lost there back bones and led to our first ever downgrade in credit rating. Otherwise its pretty close to perfect timing.

yeah voters are still upset that the republicans folded their hand on the debt ceiling...the ad is most imporant NOW than before the debt ceiling vote...why would you wanna scrap it?

I'd like to see an ad exposing the recent S&P downgrading of America's AAA status, the devaluation of the dollar to fill the pockets of the politically-connected elite, and highlighting Ron Paul as the "gold standard" of the GOP...which could then lead into his consistent principles and fiscal conservatism.

RESTORE AMERICA NOW!

A winning campaign runs ads that connect the people they are trying to reach with the candidate.

We could win Iowa with an ad similar to the one where Rand is :"giving" children sight- why not Ron Paul choosing life in every birth he has presided over?

The ad has not moved the polls, move on.

The ad is called "Conviction". Would like to see a few more convictions with jailtime...no compromise.

I think it's still relevant, the results are in everyone's minds for the next week or so, and it shows that he was right.

I think a good one could be made about the debt ceiling raise, the new Super Congress, and the credit downgrade. In fact, that ad could be easily retooled for that. All you would need to change is some of the text, cut the voice over in some parts add some voice over in a few others. The ending could remain exactly the same.

Both parties promised cuts, but agreed on a debt ceiling compromise and more spending. Now, the next chapter will be written. Without congressional oversight, 12 Washington elite will now decide YOUR financial future. 14 Trillion in debt, millions unemployed, the destruction of the US credit rating (quote about the downgrade because too little was cut), the dollar in decline. One man has always stayed true... blah blah blah... standing up to the Washington machine... and so on.

I don't think it's outdated because now when people see it they can understand "compromise" is what resulted in the US credit rating being downgraded... At least if they're smart enough... If they're not smart enough to know about the credit downgrade, then they probably weren't following the 'debt' talks anyways - in which case the ad still makes Ron to look like a real, principled leader.

Some of you has said that the voice over could be tweaked a bit - I don't know who the announcer in the video is (sounds expensive) but if they could do that I think it would be awesome.
One part of the video though that might need to be edited for now is the increase in taxes part - I haven't been keeping up with the news but I'm under the impression that no "new" taxes were in the bill or that is how they're representing it anyway.

People are still mad about the debt limit deal so we can milk the video a little more but I wonder if people will be over the issue by the time it would be ready.

But also, I didn't see the reaction to the video I was expecting. I gave it 5 stars on every level, most importantly timing, but it didn't seem to pick up the momentum I was expecting.
Bachmann released a cheap 30 second video where she even included the line "Borrow money that we don't have!" (if you already had it who would you be borrowing from?) that she got to discuss over and over and talk radio and when she wasn't on the show talking about it they still were talking about it.

We need to be using commercials and media but we can't rely on them ... at all.

We need more efforts like mailings, phone banking that give info about RP to non-supporters, email campaigns, personal letters, distributing dvds, etc.
