I can't believe our professional salesman/reality-tv actor/president managed to build a platform around 'building a big shiny wall' that propelled him to electoral victory, but I have ceased being surprised at the depths to which our society can sink. It's the first layer of security and then you plan a contingency for intruders afterwards. I stage multiple layers of security within my home if the perimeter is compromised.

Some libertarians are painfully autistic in regard to the comprehension of cultural biases and how they align with the growth of the federal government. There is no natural Darwinian filter of 'sink or swim' in this country, where you could theoretically overcome some of these damaging cultural biases. Government feeds and shelters everyone at the taxpayer and consumer's expense, while further exacerbating the moral hazards.
