Critical Theory is Systemically Brainwashing Us

You’ve probably heard words like racism, violence, white fragility, and white privilege tossed around. Do you ever feel that these words have taken on new and ideologically charged meanings? We are told that speech is violence, then we are told that silence is violence. We are told that asking perfectly sensible questions about human biology is hateful bigotry. These definitions are not only confusing, but they’re also dangerous. Sam Martin, creative director at Free the People, breaks down the critical theory behind these toxic ideas in the new series, The Cult of Wokeness.

Episode 2:

What Critical Theory Means by Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity

The current manifestation of critical theory has been called the “diversity, inclusion, and equity industry,” which is a coordinated campaign to infuse Marxist ideas into our media, schools, governments, and workplaces through written work, well designed social media graphics, workplace seminars, and diversity training. Sam Martin, creative director at Free the People, breaks down what the woke left really means when they use these words in the new series, The Cult of Wokeness.

Episode 3:

Critical Race Theory is Racist

Critical race theory, the intellectual framework steadily seeping from academia’s ivory towers into the national conversation, demands that we use race as a lens through which to examine every aspect of our society. It doesn’t matter what you as an individual have done or said. The only thing that’s important is which group you belong to—in other words, the color of your skin. That seems bad enough on its own, but it doesn’t stop there. Sam Martin, creative director at Free the People, dives deep into this bizarre new logic that is permeating our culture in a frightening way.

Episode 4:

The Cure for Critical Theory is Liberalism

Critical theory and postmodern thought are quickly taking over our schools, workplaces, and governments. With the election of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, we can expect to see even more of these policies integrated into our government. Why does this matter? It matters because this way of thinking has the power to undo the tremendous progress that we have already made as a society. So this Thanksgiving, let’s reject these toxic ideas of critical theory. Let’s instead be grateful for the ideas of liberalism—of individual liberty, equality of opportunity, free and open inquiry, and free speech and debate. Sam Martin, creative director at Free the People, breaks it all down in the latest episode of The Cult of Wokeness.

Even regardless of political implications, it's senseless mouth noise; academics should be embarrassed.

Interview with a diversity-training victim

Here's a 45 minute interview with a woman who was forced to udergo 1 year of diversity training. In the beginning, she thought it was a good thing. That changed.

In this episode, we hear from a woman who was forced to go through a year of equity, diversity, and inclusion training with none other than Robin "No White Tears" DiAngelo... Discussed: white guilt, secret Nazi iconography, and how Robin Diangelo is conning white-collar progressive in the name of equity and justice.

Whats really interesting is that Trump and the American Right beat the left top full blown postmodernism.

I think the stage for that was really set by Creationism. The Christian Right is used to the idea of rejecting reality as presented as a test of faith. Denial of facts and science as tools of "left wing power" have been around for decades.

Really the left is just catching up. Its why Trumps lies or truths just don't matter, all that matters is retention of power.

I don't know if I agree with the details, but as to post-modernism (i.e. post-reason, post-reality), yea, the "right" is right there with the "left."

A sane person wakes up in the morning, turns on the idiot box, and finds two demented cults fighting over which should run the country.

...and one of them will!

Antifederalist recently posted an article examining the difference between 1950 and 2020. This video explains much of what is taking place today.

If the Earth isn't 4 billion years old etc, then what other "facts" can ever matter. If 2+2 /= 4 whenever the Bible says it doesn't then reason is fucked.

We like to blame critical theory, but the fundies got there first. They will say whatever they have to retain power, will uphold any hypocrisy or crime. Power is Truth.

Maybe the Earth is both 4 billion years old and a few thousand years old?

This is off, by a mile. Most "creationists" haven't ever encountered the "facts" regarding evolution, and frankly it wouldn't matter if they had. Evolution as a concept is entirely inconsequential to the running of our day-to-day lives. There's almost no impact to an individual if he/she does or does not acknowledge evolution as the correct interpretation for the existence of life on earth - it's almost entirely an academic matter, and the purview of people who are effectively gazing at their own navels.

As to why Trump's lies do or do not matter, your understanding of that matter is precisely why he won in 2016... or, more accurately, why the left lost.

Pray this remains the case in 2020.

A sane person wakes up in the morning, turns on the idiot box...
No. A sane person does not wake up and turn on the idiot box. Infact it is not an idiot box anymore. It is at the box of madness. Cthulhu has entered our lives through it.

These are not even remotely the same thing.

"The Earth is not 4 billion years old" is an empirical assertion, and is thus susceptible to reasonable disputation.

"2 + 2 is not equal to 4" is neither empirical nor reasonably disputable.

Creationism may be incorrect (and I believe that it is), but unlike Critical Theory, it does not constitute an assault upon reason itself.

Also, Creationists are not even remotely close to the levers of cultural and institutional power - Critical Theorists are, and are by far the greater and graver danger of the two. To put them on the same level is ludicrous.
