Could the US be facing war crimes investigation?

Will watch it later but I do hope something finally happens towards bringing war criminals to justice. What the Nazi members were convicted of in the Nuremberg Trials was initiating a war of agression, i.e unprovoked invasion - and that is how I'd describe the coalition invasion of Iraq.

Bush and Cheney are war criminals.

So are Hannity, O'Reilly, and thousands of puppet war salesmen media shit bags.

According to BBC's Newsnight Lawyers working under the Bush administration fear they could be subject to a war crimes investigation and may have been left vulnerable to explain themselves to an international court much like the Nuremberg Trials.

Subject matter starts at 13:10 into the video

I got an error message saying that this video couldn't be viewed outside of the UK. An error on my part somehow?

I consider them criminals as well, but I'm no great fan of international courts. The American People, once properly informed, will be able to mete out justice.

The U.S. gov has filters up like the chinese gov to keep out subversive "materials" because it encourages "terrorism" at home.
You didn't see the thoughts crime legislation?

Are you contaminated with subversive thought? The feds will be there soon to remove you.

Is this a joke? The British Broadcasting Corporation's streaming video is limited to, quess what, Great Britain. None of their videos are available to anyone in any nation outside the UK. If you think the Federal Government is filtering internet traffic, you're going to have to do better than this.

Errr... Brent was joking ;)

To my knowledge, the thought crime bill hasn't passed... yet.

my question is can american soldiers be tried in the international court of justice for commiting war crimes eg rape or murder against civilians?...i know other country soldiers can...is this not double standards when milosvic was tried in hague... i dont understand it....and this is not about patriotism where no American can do wrong...just wondering....what happened to the soldiers of abu guraib and the higher ups involved...also what happened to the soldiers who raped and murdered a family in basra...its sad that the soldiers are exposed to such situations bit are they not criminals for doing so and should they not be prosecuted by the law of the land ie Iraqi law...??

Ours can if another nation has custody of that soldier. I don't see us handing over our soldiers to some other jurisdiction.
We would gladly had over our Prez, VP and their partners in crime.

It's a bad idea from the standpoint of national sovereignty, but it
would seem fitting if indeed the deathstar has been-a-waterboardn’
under direct orders from the commander -N- chief. This fish is rotten
from the head down...

we need to avoid international courts.

handle it like the iraqi people handled their tyrant, saddam.

as for trying our SOLDIERS for war crimes, absolutely not. I would be enraged if these 20-year-old kids were put on trial.

in fact, shouldn't we be avoiding this altogether? we are supposed to be a peaceful revolution.

God I hope so. nothing would make me happier to see Bush, Chenny, Rumsfeild, Rice and the rest arrested and held in Iraq jails for the rest of their lives.

so what you are saying is it is fine to be prosecuted in the international court if your NOT an American?...milosivic(a war criminal and there is ample evidence) was tried in the court just because the US pursued the case ...yet Saddam was NOT brought to the International court?....why because he would divulge secrets?....and I will never buy that the iraqi govt and people wanted him to be tried in the country because seriously who listens to them....besides their courts were NOT even independant as the judge had previous victimization by sadam....all im saying is there should be one standard and not a different one when you are the Largest military power....that is what breeds hatred in this world towards the county apart from the other things....
btw what do you intend to do with the mugabe's, musharrafs, king of saudi arabia, and the cohorts for their dictatorship but thats a seperate issue....

care to explain why?.....or were you being sarcastic as I am not good at detecting it....is it because they are 20?...or because they are "our"...american soldiers..tell me if a 20 yr old would kill or rape another national in another country what would happen?...why does being an american soldier give you immunity.....a murder is a murder irrespective of nationality..like i said again the only reason bush cheney got away and will get away is because of the middle america patriotism where no american can do wrong....and everything will be fine if we hoist a flag outside our house to show our "defiance"....unless we change that atitude the country will remain embroiled in illegal conflicts and garner hate from the world....

in fact, shouldn't we be avoiding this altogether? we are supposed to be a peaceful revolution.

why should a vital fact be avoided ....is it because its very hard to take in?...

I think they should charge Bill clinton first, then bush.

Charged for bombing 2 countries in 1999 (Iraq,Serbia)
