EDIT: As noted below by liberty_Forever and newbitech, we have independent confirmation of a January 6th Fox News Candidate Forum from 3 additional sources:
- our campaign has contacted the NH GOP and been told that the final decision is Fox's
- the Baltimore Sun has contacted the NH GOP and been told that the final decision is Fox's
- and several users here have contacted their local Fox affiliates and been told that there is a Candidate Forum scheduled to air on January 6th.

So the premise of this thread that the AP is the only source is FALSE.

The Fox News Candidate Forum on January 6th is currently planned to take place.

The following AP story is the only source I have seen for a supposed January 6th Candidate Forum televised by Fox News and hosted at Anselm College.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071227/ap_po/on_the2008_trail_7

Now, can anyone provide any other source for a January 6th Candidate Forum on Fox News?

Having seen none, other than confusing messages from the official campaign, let's look at other facts we have that count against its existence, and as the root of all this confusion:

1. It says it is hosted at Anslem College, but Anselm College's website makes no mention of it. It only mentions the January 5th ABC debate: http://blogs.saintanselmcollege.net/2007/11/29/abcdebates/

2. Fox News's own calendar mentions the ABC debate on the 5th, and mentions a Fox News debate in South Carolina on the 10th, but makes no mention of a Fox News Candidate Forum on January 6th. It's in the bottom left corner of their website: http://youdecide08.foxnews.com/

We are certainly not in a mess. The major outlets are full of crap information.

AP, NH GOP (Fergus Cullen) , and FOX are the ones who have the explaining to do.

This was discussed much earlier today. Many people, myself included called Fox local affiliates. I will speak for myself in Tampa to say that the local affiliate in this market confirmed that Fox 13 would be broadcasting this event.

Incidentally, he told me he also noticed that Ron Paul was left out of the list of invitees in the AP article and thought that maybe it was an over site or accidental omission by the AP writer. He thought that it would be extremely newsworthy indeed if Fox News censored Dr. Paul.

He acknowledged the huge grassroots movement in our city and burbs and thanked me for the news tip.

People, there is nothing to be confused about. The old media are doing what they always do by captivating our attention so they can sell ad spots to their sponsors.

Chris Wallace is the one doing the interview. Hes the "marching orders from al queda" guy. I wouldn't be surprised one bit if he dragged his feet on inviting Dr. Paul or obfuscated the truth about his show on Jan 6th. while discussing with the campaign.

The best we can do is call Fox and voice our concerns of the legitimate report that Ron Paul is being censored from a very important appearance 2 days before N.H.

THATS IT! Others are willing to go further in the name of fighting censorship and that is the bigger issue. If Fox were fair and balanced, and a true news organization, they wouldn't keep so many of us in the dark by remaining silent on all of this.

So there are really 2 issues going on here.

#1 We are trying to fight a report that says Ron Paul is going to be censored 2 days before N.H. votes.

#2 We are generally protesting censorship.

No more facts are available at this time.

Ok, awesome. Thank you very much.

I see in the Baltimore Sun link you provide cites the AP story, but also ads this information:
http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/news/politics/blog/2007/12/ron_paul_outfoxed.html
An official at the New Hampshire GOP, which is co-sponsoring the event with Fox, said that Paul might still be included, but the planning for the debate was still coming together and it was ultimately Fox's call.

And the Union Leader link says that there has been an unconfirmed Fox News affiliated January 6th still in planning, but says that what is planned right now is a NH GOP Candidate Forum the morning of January 6th with no indication it will be televised:

The state Republican Party has scheduled a presidential forum for 11 a.m. Jan. 6 at the Function Center at Hampshire Hills in Milford. The party’s presidential candidates have been invited to participate in the forum.

their ya go dircha, so what we are looking at here is carefully placed media leaks to draw more attention to Fox news.

I am not surprised one bit. I am actually quite please with the level of grassroots response in exposing this media leak so quickly. We are truly fighting against the old media trying to manipulate things the old way.

The exposure will help make people more aware of how the media plays with our emotions in the name of ratings rather than reporting the news like their public job description lead us all to believe.

I realize this is confusing for people who have not been involved with this for the past 72 hours.

The 11 AM brunch on January 6th is seperate and distinct from the Fox-sponsored 'forum' in the evening that has been in the works.

The Jan 6th Fox-brokered 'forum' was mentioned by

1) The Associated Press (Dec 27th wire)
2) NH Union Leader (Dec 27th, quoting Giuliani campaign)
3) Baltimore Sun (Dec 29th, quoting NH GOP official)
3) NH GOP (via telephone)
4) Fox News (via telephone)
5) RP campaign

Let's just continue asking questions. Don't worry, we are the Internet. We can figure this out.

The January 6th "forum" with Wallace is indeed real and happening.
