Can we get Walter Williams on Ron Paul's list please?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_E._Williams

Sure, but third tier.

-Believes in preemptive strikes
-No political background
-No leadership background

More of a scholar with similar views to Ron; he also endorsed Ron's 2008 campaign while throwing in the towel on his own bid.

added:

Walter Williams, economist, commentator, and academic

I don't expect Ron is seriously considering him at this time unless you can cite otherwise.

Ron Paul mentions:
NAPOLITANO

again (4/25/12)!!!!

http://www.kfoxtv.com/news/news/republican-ron-paul-continues-texas-tour-stopping-/nMh4c/

This is only the third time I know of that he has mentioned anyone's name as a vp choice... he mentioned

The Judge 6/17/11

The Judge 2/19/12

(4/25/12)

Lauren Rozyla, Reporter: “Who you would choose as a running mate for vice president?”
Ron Paul: “Well I've thrown out a name. It's premature to do that. You're not supposed to talk like that. But the name that popped in my head was Andrew Napolitano. He's a good friend of mine. I think he's brilliant.”

I highlighted The Judge at the top of the list today.

Justin Amash of MI, he's a strong conservative Paul supporter in the Senate who is in a swing state as some one else listed MI as a swing state. I'm very surprised no one else has said his name yet, I thought he is well known enough to have been listed already. I also think his age is a plus, and he's a Tea Party candidate who isn't a neocon or sell out.

Brian Schweitzer?

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!

This is the same motherfucker who used a BRANDING IRON to veto Republican-passed bills from the States legislature, because they were "frivolous, unconstitutional, or in direct contradiction to the expressed will of the people of Montana." Then he signed into law a bill that virtually nullified a PUBLIC REFERENDUM approving of the availability of medical marijuana.

Take him off the list. NOW.

**I'm a foreigner** I trust Amash.I also like Mike Lee a lot.Decent, honest, trustworthy people who care about America but freedom above all.

http://www.ronpaul.com/2010-08-08/poll-who-should-be-ron-pauls-vp-in-2012/

He took on 23 votes in this poll in 2010. And there are many other anecdotal mentions on the net. I don't necessarily agree... but there was a moment of "buzz" surrounding him. He's in the bottom of the "unlikely" tier; he's been "mentioned but dismissed" is the way I like to look at his place on the list. Notice he's right down there with Rubio and Romney. Interesting that in that same poll in 2010 Ventura was in the #2 position. I think our camp has since realized Jesse is a bit to fringe for the national scene.

I'll add:

"mentioned but largely dismissed" to the description of the third tier for you.

Ok, let's get one thing straight, there's no guarantee that Ron will have 1144 delegates even on the second ballot at RNC & at a brokered convention, Ron might have to offer a VP that attracts the conservatives delegates

Secondly, although Ron is from Texas he's NOT your "Southern candidate", he can bring in a lot of Independents, even rake in a good chunk of anti-war pro-civil-liberty Democrats but if he's to beat Obama then he's going to have to draw on every Republican vote he can BUT as can be seen in the primaries, mainstream GOP isn't very supportive of Ron because he's perceived more like a "moderate" (due to positions on social issues & wars) so Ron will need to offer a VP as a "deal" at RNC, who attracts the MAINSTREAM GOP

DeMint or Daniels

DeMint's strengths have already been mentioned, he'd be a strong VP "deal" for us at the RNC as well as General Election to pull in the MAINSTREAM GOP

Mitch Daniels (2-time Indiana Governor)
- establishment-friendly AND libertarian, that's a good combination for us
- not a war-monger
- known within the mainstream GOP for his staunch fiscal-conservatism
- executive-office experience
- pretty libertarian track record - http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?366323-How-about-Mitch-Daniels

Was Goldwater Jr. mentioned?

He and the Judge both turned down VP offers from Gary Johnson, and Johnson ended up picking a pro-pot judge as his running mate.

Was Goldwater Jr. mentioned?

No. Thanks for rejoining and good point. To the bottom of teir 2 w/ hyperlink to his wiki as we discuss.

Personally, I don't think we can double sell the geriatric card. Many Americans are still barely ready for a septuagenarian president (76) , let alone one with a septuagenarian (74) back up plan. Ron's age is a big factor for a good number of voters I know. Too many republicans remember all too well Reagan's decent into alzheimers.

If you had to put a % on Nap given RP's choice of word's on 4/25 what would it be?

I suspect Ron's 90% thinking Nap myself.

Nap by the way is 62; still ripe for national politics.
Johnson is 59.
Demint is 61.
