Plain and simple.

From the Gloria Borger interview to their inaccurate poll (no independents/dems, which made up 26% tonight) CNN had the fix in. They inflated Santorum big time and smeared Ron Paul 24/7. I will never forgive CNN for this.

As much as we shouldn't make excuses about coming in 3rd, I think you're right. Ron was doing very well, polling around 25% on average and on the upswing until CNN decided to character assassinate him. I haven't seen as relentless and blatant an attack since Rand won his state primary and msnbc did nothing but smear him for an entire weekend. And to add salt to the wounds they immediately turned around and pumped up Santorum with a misleading poll which spread like wildfire and basically called him the Second Coming which could do no harm.

Up to these last few weeks, I had always believed that CNN was the most reasonable of all the 24 hour news channels, but they just lost all of my respect after what they did to Ron. Forget the Taliban, forget Iran, if people want to know who the true enemies of this country are, look no further than those who own and operate the major news media outlets. These guys will do and say anything to make money even if it means selling out the truth.

We should have never done that Borger interview, it took us until 3-4 days ago to recover from that.

Blame the campaign for that. The Gloria Borger interview was clearly a hit piece, BUT RP should not have walked out like he did. The fact he wasn't prepared in a better way, and the FACT they still have not held a press conference on the issue is really beyond me. Herman Cain was out in FULL defense over his supposedly false "accusations", but the RP campaign basically allowed him to be slandered for 2 full weeks with very little defense...and the difference is the RP campaign SHOULD HAVE KNOWN it would/could be an issue...heck I emailed an adviser BEFORE the Gloria Borger interview, on December 13, letting him know RP better be prepared for ANYTHING in regards to the newsletters issue.

In hindsight, the newsletter issue wasn't handled as well as it could have been. They should have had a game plan in place before the campaign was even announced.

It was the CNN poll that showed Santorum at 15% when they didn't poll independents and Dems. With those people included, he was closer to 7% and this was confirmed by not one but TWO other polls taken on the same day. Santorum was NOT at 15% when CNN said he was. Not even close.

But every media outlet in the country showed that CNN poll over and over again, using it as an excuse to claim a Santorum surge.

I don't believe it was a conspiracy, just shitty luck.

I just wish Faux would have used the opportunity to discredit CNN by showing the fully unedited version of that gang bang on Paul. I know it's wishful thinking but couldn't the Judge or Stossel do something with it. It's too much footage for the campaign to do anything with...I dunno, I get so tired of the media cutting things out that completely change the context of the answers given.

LOCAL PARTY OFFFICIALS. THEY MOVED THE SHEEP FRO M TEH LOWER TEIR TO ANTI-PAUL VOTES.

it wasnt just the MSM.

It's too little too late now on the newsletter issue. That'll have to wait until after the GOP primaries.

(Gather all the documents, publish them online, and sit Paul down for a one-on-one interview with Wolf Blitzer to discuss the issues in-depth for 30-60 minutes. Add that video to the site hosting the documents, and let that be it.)

CNN doesn't have that many viewers, they don't even get a million viewers during the daytime when the Borger interview first aired. CNN's nighttime lineup is rated 3rd behind both Fox News and MSNBC.

Incorrect.

Fox News created the "Santorum Surge" while CNN attacked Ron Paul.

This all happened simultaneously, because if one channel did both, it would be so obvious.

Correct, Republicans don't watch CNN and these are the Republican primaries! Fox got Republicans to vote for Santorum while CNN scared away some of the Independents and youth and got them to stay home because of the newsletters.

Perhaps you missed all the Fox News shows talking about the newsletters, and Hannity, Levin, etc.

Couldn't agree more. Without CNN Ron Paul would have won by a good margin.

Judge is on Fox Business News which has less than 100,000 viewers.

I would love for someone to start a long term form listing who advertises and/or gives money to CNN, MSNBC, WSJ etc..... So I can no long buy there products. Money means everything to these people, it's how they purchase elections, pay * Insiders * to smear Ron Paul etc...... I have no problem not buying products from these people and if everyone started doing it it would make a difference.

Those fuckers edited that interview to make it look like Ron walked off. He did no such thing.

CNN did this deliberately, I'm sure they are all very proud of themselves right now.

everyone watches cnn, fox news watches cnn and all the media outlets report the same stories.
