The saxaphone player for Bruce Springsteen- he recently played with Lady Gaga on the American Idol finals show and also played on her latest album. Also known as the "Big Man" -standing six feet four and about 250 pounds. He suffered a stroke this past week and was 69 years old. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/19/a...ons-e-street-band-saxophonist-dies-at-69.html

His solo on "Jungleland"

Springsteen telling one version of how he met Clarence- recorded at The Main Point, Bryn Mawr Pennsylvania in 1975.Yeah sometimes his stories can seem a bit long.

Ah shit, while not the biggest fan of Springsteen, having grown up on the Jersey Shore (in the town that E Street is in) and gone to school at Asbury Park, I can't help but be sad, it's a part of your life (especially considering my age, coming up right around the same time as Bruce) whether you like or not, and there's no denying the talent.

RIP Big Man, blow on in heaven brother...

Jungleland - Passiac, NJ - 1978.

sax players die early because of strokes, which are brought on by decades of circular breathing. seriously. look it up.
