Like him or not, Rand Paul is right:

Given that he didn't back McConnell's challenger, I doubt he would have backed McDaniel. And given the outpouring of backing that Cochran got in the rematch, it probably wouldn't have helped that much. Plus, is anyone in the GOP or press really going to pay attention now to McDaniel paying Paul a compliment on his Facebook page?

Chris McDaniel actually would have won the Senate primary and possibly the election if Thad Cochran hadn't broken election rules (soliciting votes from voters who had already voted in the Democrat primary). There's also a "pastor" (I put that in quotation marks because a good pastor wouldn't go along with that sort of thing) who claims that the Cochran campaign gave him some money (if I recall right, it was $10,000) with which to buy votes.
