So now we have found tat CFL is a 501(c)4 This is now posted on a few of the web pages. Below I have information from wiki about what this means:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/501(c)

501(c)(4) exemptions are given to civic leagues or organizations not organized for profit and operated exclusively for the promotion of social welfare, or local associations of employees. Net earnings are devoted exclusively to charitable, educational, or recreational purposes.

The exemption applies so long as "...no part of the net earnings of such entity inures to the benefit of any private shareholder or individual."[9]

Characteristics that set these organizations apart from a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization include but are not limited to:

* Limited membership. Examples include limiting membership to the employees of a designated company or persons in a particular municipality or neighborhood.
* Broader ability to lobby for legislation.

Deductibility of donations to 501(c)(4) organizations

Unlike donations to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, donations to a section 501(c)(4) organization are not deductible by the donor under section 170 of the code unless the recipient organization is either:

* a volunteer fire department as described in revenue ruling 80-77
* a veteran organizations with at least 90% of its membership consisting of war veterans as described in IRS Revenue Ruling 84-140.

Prominent 501(c)(4) organizations

* AARP
* Democratic Leadership Council
* League of Conservation Voters
* MoveOn.org
* Campaign for Liberty

Anyone else have any addtl information as to what limits to donations would be or does this open the doors for us to pump in any amount we want?

(a sub comment: Great to see that CFL is going the way of a non-profit and doing this all in support of the cause, and not to fill their wallets as some groups *cough* BTM *cough* have done.)

Hee-LARRY-ous!! :p

lol, i'm the one who added campaign for liberty under prominent organizations

It's the same structure as moveon.org
The MoveOn family of organizations is made up of a couple of different pieces. MoveOn.org Civic Action, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization, formerly known just as MoveOn.org, primarily focuses on education and advocacy on important national issues. MoveOn.org Political Action, a federal PAC, formerly known as MoveOn PAC, mobilizes people across the country to fight important battles in Congress and help elect candidates who reflect our values. Both organizations are entirely funded by individuals.

Someone posted on here that Ron Paul will be utilizing his liberty PAC,

So does this open a door for foreign doners? I haven't been following the campaign so closely tha past couple of months (University studies really hurts your free time). The reason I'm asking is that the right wing parties in Sweden just voted for a surveillance bill that monitors all international internet and telephone traffic to or from Sweden.

Since the socialists are on board (they were the ones who wrote the bill) it is going pass regardless so I feel that I need to do at least something to support the clearest shining beacon of hope and liberty.
