Fox Stations and Montel's TV career
Shortly before Fox-owned and biased-operated television stations in major markets terminated Montel's talk-show contract, Montel appeared in an interview on Fox News Channel's Fox and Friends, and was asked to discuss Heath Ledger's death. He used the interview to point out that TV networks had continued to extensively cover Mr Ledger's death while ignoring the deaths of 28 US soldiers in Iraq since the beginning of the year. Montel expressed sympathy for Mr Ledger's family and remorse for his passing but also encouraged the three interviewers to recognize the absence of coverage for the US soldiers killed in Iraq. The interviewers suggested that the death of Heath Ledger was more interesting to viewers than the details of conflict in Iraq. Montel suggested that US news networks had the capacity to lead the country's attitudes by placing just as much importance on US deaths in Iraq as on the deaths of celebrities. Montel noted that he had awoken that morning very saddened by the unknown names of those slain in Iraq and was further saddened when he could not find their names on the web.

Are we sure that wasn't already in the works? wow.

I forgot when it was, but they were talking about Heath Ledger and Montel spoke about how 28 people died in January so far in the Iraq War and that is more important than some actor. It's on youtube somewhere. A week or two later, this happens.

Truth is not allowed to be spoken in the US in the limelight. It really sucks. Montel was definitely right on that one, and good for him for speaking up on that.

Today's headlines on the radio: Britney Spears taken to the hospital.

Eh. I dunno if they weren't planning on doing this anyway.

Especially since, I think, his show counts as a "written show." It might just be until the writers come back.

Could be wrong, though. . but I remember hearing about many talkshows getting nailed by writers guild

i believe montel should endorse ron paul. hes a medical marijuana patient due to his ms so i believe he will be in favor of ron paul's stance on the war on drugs and i also think he really wants to get the troops back home as quick as possible.

NWS doesn't own CBS, and his show's contract had been on the ropes for a while.

In before more nutty conspiracies...

good stuff thx for this video I never seen it before maybe we can get Ron on Montel before he goes off the air

You know, it's about damn time someone spoke some sense on TV. Sure, it sucks that Heath Ledger died, but the over-the-top amount of coverage his death has gotten is just a slap in the face to the fallen soldiers. It's simply ridiculous how much our "news" focuses on celebrities rather than real current events...

another 5 soldiers blown up the other day in Iraq and it's a footnote on the news

Well according to McCain, thats a good thing. Casualties are down, so you know, we're winning. Apparently to him, a few dead soldiers arent a bad thing.
