Capitol police shut down Christian children's choir singing national anthem. "Too offensive".

Damn, can't do anything anymore, because somebody might take offense.

Is there anything you can do that if you looked hard enough, you could find somebody who would be offended?

Welcome to Marxist Revolution comrade.

That is, quite literally, right out of the playbook.

Everything must be made political.

Oh FFS! I'm 50 years old. I didn't complain when I went to a mostly white summer camp and they sang Dixie. Lived through a white (fake) Christian boarding academy where many, if not most, of the white kids had some sort of Confederate flag on their clothing. I remember the day when another kid, of German descent was drawing Swastika on the computer screen. I said "Why the hell would you do that?" He replied "I'm full blood German. This is my German heritage."

I started to say something...then I realized "The Nazis weren't wholesale killing black people. So why do I give confederates a pass but get up in arms about the Nazis?" Turns out, Hitler actually treated captured black U.S. servicemen better than their own military. The only time the Tuskegee airmen weren't in segregated quarters were when they were POWs.

So, unless you are someone that never[]/b] gets offended by anything then don't bitch about someone else getting offended by something. I personally find a threat of death to slaves for the *gasp* audacity of considering they should follow the ideals of the founding fathers and fight for freedom to be far more offensive than "Dixie" (some people say that song was written by a slave) or the confederate flag or the Nazi flag. But as a first amendment point of view, i would have let the rugrats sing. I also would h ave let them sing "Kill the Boer" and "Put the Jews in the oven" and "Lynch the darkies" if that's what they wanted to do from a first amendment point of view. But it's beyond asinine for anyone else to tell me or anyone else what they should or should not be offended over. Again most people didn't even know about the fcking second verse! This isn't like taking down Robert E. Lee's statute that's been up in plain sight for the past 100 years. It's dredging up something that was in the dustbin of history and saying "Well what are you offended about?" That's gate keeping and mind control that's just as disgusting as anything any left wing woke communist does.

AND I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF THIS WASN'T DONE AS A PSYOP TO GET PEOPLE MAD AT EACH OTHER! Again, the song is 200 years old and for most of that history people haven't sung the 2nd verse. No legitimate reason to start singing it now. You can if you want. But don't bitch if other people don't like it.

A - Because if they were the "Young Black Octobrists" singing "Kill the Boer" in the capital, as part of a worldwide solidarity event, nobody would have said a word. But because it was a group of young Christians, singing the national anthem in its entirety everybody loses their $#@! and runs them off.

B - Because it was a skirmish in the Marxist revolution. Nothing could be "newsworthy".

Nobody thought of doing a medley because almost nobody, including myself, find anything wrong with the line.

Only by using the most tortured of logic, can that line be spun into anything even remotely "racist".

Ben Swann thinks it's racist. Pretty much every black person who's ever heard it thinks it's racist. It's been buried in the dustbin of history because most Americans think it's racist. And that's because it is racist.

I am quite sure fifty years ago very few people thought the national anthem was racist.

Traditionally, only the first verse is sung, and that has been the case ever since 1931 when it was adopted.

The lyrics are obscure and the melody is torture to sing.

I defy you to find ten instances of large public gatherings, sports or political events where the full poem is sung.

The kids in this case chose to sing the entire anthem because it was a once in a lifetime experience in a once in lifetime venue.

And they got shit upon, because they were white, because they came from a conservative school, and because they were Christian.

That verse is not racist in any way, period.

As I noted before, the song is a cruel joke anymore anyway.

Petition to have it done away with.
