Campaign Evaluation (2020): Cynthia Lummis (U.S. Senate, R-WY)

Given what she is up against, I expect Cynthia will win the primary, but you never know. You can check out the primary ballot at https://sos.wyo.gov/Elections/Docs/2020/WY_Primary_Election_Candidates.pdf (PDF).

I don't even recognize any of the names on the D side. But, whoever they nominate, I expect the Ds will spend lots of (carpet bagger) money opposing Cynthia.

Cynthia was a regular at Ron Paul's Wednesday morning breakfasts, and a founder of the Freedom Caucus. At the 2012 Republican Convention, she handed out "I Stand With Rand" stickers. I saw quite a few around.

Apparently the state GOP ran a poll at their state convention. The winner was Bryan Miller, https://www.bryanmiller4senate.com/. Miller has never held elected office. He is ex-military and works for the military-industrial complex. He ran for US Senate some years ago, as a total unknown. Partyarchs told him to get involved in the party, which he did. He was elected state committeeman for his county. On the state central committee he chaired a subcommittee.

That is good to hear that she backed Rand at CPAC and endorsed his presidential bid. Clearly she is closer to the liberty movement than the establishment. I know that Protect Freedom PAC has provided some financial backing in the form of an ad buy.

Based on fundraising and endorsements she is a shoe-in for the nomination. She has the support of both sitting senators and out-raised her closest primary opponent 1.3M to 186K in Q1 2020.
