Campaign Battle Plan - Education / Differentiation

I have a few suggestions below on how we can improve the campaign - in a nut shell, it amounts to DIFFERENTIATION. We need to clearly differentiate Dr. Paul from the other candidates.

In my view, the three most important reasons we need Dr. Paul in the White House are:

The War / Foreign Policy
The Relentless Attack on Our Civil Liberties
Monetary Policy / Economy

The first thing I think the Campaign should do is produce a Slim Jim for EACH of these issues.

What it boils down to is this - we face an uphill battle because the people of this country are to a large extent ignorant of the issues AND they are also not aware as to how/why Dr. Paul is different from each and EVERY one of the other candidates.

Because our fellow citizens are generally unaware of the threats facing this country we need to EDUCATE them.

The War / Foreign Policy - this Slim Jim could discuss "Blowback" in further detail, it could discuss how we spend over $650 billion per year on defense (which is more than every other nation in the world combined!), it could discuss how we went into Iraq on false pretenses, etc, etc. Most importantly it would point out that Dr. Paul's position is that we BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW.

The Relentless Attack on Our Civil Liberties - this Slim Jim should discuss the various pieces of legislation that have been passed that undermine our civile liberties - Patriot Act, Military Commissions Act of 2006, Homegrown Terrorism Act, National ID Card, etc, etc. The Bush administration has given us plenty of Ammo to use in our fight. We should highlight the dangers inherent in each of these pieces of legislation and then compare and contrast the VOTING RECORDS of all of the other candidates.

Similar to the charts found here:

http://www.rp-supporters.com/compare.html

Again, we need to DIFFERENTIATE! Just look at the charts at the link above - very quickly it becomes clear just how Ron Paul is different from ALL of the other candidates.

Monetary Policy / Economy - saying Dr. Paul will stop the Inflation Tax is not enough. We need to clearly explain what the inflation tax is! This topic is very confusing to most people - we need to EDUCATE them!
Perhaps discuss how the price of gas has (mostly) remained constant over time in terms of silver.
Discuss how monetary policy impacts our national debt - discuss how much each American's share of the national debt is.
Maybe even discuss that we have borrowed so much from China ($1.3 Trillion and counting) that we have given the Chinese the power to collapse the dollar (and by extension) our Economy.

Let's get on the offensive. Let's point out the voting records of ALL of the other candidates on these issues and Dr. Paul has been consistent and different.

Here's what we should not be doing:

The billboard in this link is a complete waste of money in my opinion.

It in now way jumps out at me or DIFFERENTIATES Ron Paul from the other candidates.

Instead of:

Ron Paul
- End the War in Iraq
- Strengthen the Economy
- Secure our Borders

Perhaps we should say:
Ron Paul
- Bring the Troops Home Now!
- Stop the US Dollar Collapse
- Secure our Borders

SUGGESTION FOR ALL RON PAUL FOOT SOLDIERS:

Last night, when I turned on Anderson 360, I was excited to see an army of Ron Paul supporters in the background trying to gain exposure for our guy. While, I am delighted to see all of the Ron Paul “Hope for America” signs, we also need to be display signs that describe Dr. Paul’s platform.

Many people in this country have still NEVER heard of Dr. Paul - so we need to use every opportunity to not only get his name out, but display what he stands for. So carry a Hope for America sign in one hand and maybe a “Bring the Troops Home Now!” or “Defend our Civil Liberties” or “No More IRS” sign in the other.

These are my suggestions – I welcome any and all feedback / criticism.

Again it boils down to EDUCATION and DIFFERENTIATION.

I use these two flyers primarily and I am finding them pretty effective. Combined they address your three points.

Ron Paul's Strategy on Terrorism

I also use the DVD A Man For All Seasons for all the Super Voters in my district. This tool is very powerful due to the fact that many people do not like to read and the information in the presentation comes across as very factual.

Please peruse this material.

in the war issue, we should include something about RP being willing to go to war IF the Congress declares war. I beleive it is a fine point that should be hammered home, not all get the continuation of the not going to war without a declaration of war.....

Roguepatriot, you are so right. I had been thinking that in this nation of sheep not very many people know that we are about to lose our beautiful country.Ron Paul talks alot about our civil liberties being at risk. That is true but he also needs to say that they passed the Homegrown terrorism Act, and explain how it takes our freedoms away. He also needs to talk about the Veterens disarmament act. How dare they pass this law that can disarm of veterens for life just on a shrinks word, or for having A.D.D. as a child. This all needs to be explained.

I want to make a point here, since we are trying to win the Republican nomination we have to show that Ron Paul is STRONG on defence. Most Republicans are hawks. The campaign needs to desperately come up with a clear vision about how getting out of foreign entanglements will make us STRONGER (concentration of force) and that we will still go after Bin Laden, but not using the currently flawed "Bush Doctrine". I think what is hurting us more than anything else is the perception that Ron Paul is WEAK on defence.

Basically the campaign needs to issue a plan of what a Ron Paul national defence would be.

Bringing the troops home and stationing them on the border will reduce illegal immigration in addtion too...(further develop) Way back when that was a big part of where the army was station, think back to Black Jack Pershing.

I will pull the troops out of Iraq, however I will have the CIA and special forces continue the hunt for Bin Laden. Or if we want to get into Letters of Marque, some sort of bounty for Bin Laden if this is more in line with let the market handle it. It needs to be stressed that Dr. Paul is not going to just let Al Qaeda live and let live. I think that is the current perception of him because of the debates and how he has been framed by both opponents and Faux news and the rest of the conservative media establishment as being WEAK on defence and national security.

I completely agree with this entire post.

Strong on Defense...

I agree. We needs to promote flyers and ads that state,

"Protect America First"
and "Strong National Defense", "Secure our Borders"

Many people who only watch the MSM believe Ron Paul wants the troops to sit home and do nothing. He is painted as a passive, weak leader. Of course, we know the opposite is true, but we have to tell others...

We can do this on our own, but I agree that his TV and radio ads should show him as tough on anyone who messes with the U.S.

Great link to those charts above, Roguepatriot. I'll be using those. Thanks.

I totally agree, it should be Ron Paul vs "the other guy in the lead" in 30 seconds.
