Why is Rand stuck in the corner on this issue? He doesn't want to lose the hawk vote in the general election? It seems to me he hasn't lost the hawk vote, but he also hasn't gained their vote either. We created ISiS by toppling Saddam. He has gotten people to call Libya Hillarys war. How do we get people to call Iraq Bushs war? We are still using the 2003 AUMF, how do we call it anything else?

And what is he point of this thread exactly?

To discuss why Rand is losing support on his Iraq foreign policy, when this was where he was polling best in 2013. I've seen multiple polls that show that Republicans won't vote for Bush if he is the Nominee.

Ron Paul polled well on his opposition to the Iraq war, how well did that play in the 2012 GOP primary? Don't confuse primary voters with the general electorate, that's the first ingredient in losing.

The politics behind Rand using "Hillary's war in Libya" has to do with him being the only one in the race who has directly gone after her like so:

I brought a lot of people into the Ron Paul camp because they went to Iraq, or their friends got blown up. I have tried talking to these people this time around for Rand and I am not getting the same enthusiasm. I can't even make a dent in any of their arguments. I was just hoping for something concrete that I can use because I know that he is the best person on their side.

We haven't seen yet how far Rand is gonna go to attack primary opponents. Someone just played him a critical Jeb quote yesterday and he went straight into how [Rand's] SF office will help him beat Hillary.

There were 2 candidates that come to mind who made a habit of going into attack mode, firing both torpedo tubes right in the first couple debates, one was Steve Forbes back in 2000, the other was Giuliani in 2008. Both of them self-destructed very early in the primaries. There is a time to punch, and a time to stick and move.

This isn't going anywhere in the news cycle any time soon

More Rand Paul on Jeb's Iraq position: "That’s a real problem if he can’t articulate what he would have done differently.

Rand Paul tells me re: Jeb's Iraq answer: "To say that nothing would happen differently means we’re going to get George Bush 3."
