Actually, it's bizarre that Obama would come out and say this the day after NC just amended their state constitution to ban gay marriage. Yesterday he said his view was "evolving" but didn't come out in support of gay marriage. For Obama it's easy to be a "patriot" when there's nothing on the line. He's totally playing politician.
