Iran Plot 'sinks' Ron Paul's campaign??

So.
Doubtless if unsurprisingly he never saw it coming. But Iran just sent a torpedo amidships to the Ron Paul campaign.
Remember Congressman Paul back at that Fox debate in Iowa saying to Chris Wallace that the threat from Iran was "small"? That "Iran does not have an air force that can come here…. They can't even make enough gasoline for themselves…" This was in addition to Paul's attack on former president George W. Bush for signing an executive order designating Iran's Revolutionary Guard a "terrorist group." All are of a piece in the consistent Ron Paul theme that many see as a McGovernite foreign policy. Not only far-left wing philosophically but with a startling -- and dangerous -- naïveté about the nature of America's enemies.
Comes now the news that lo and behold Iran is being accused by the FBI -- with the charge backed up by House Intelligence Chairman Mike Rogers, the Michigan Republican -- of plotting not one but two attacks on American soil. The targets being the Saudi Ambassador to the U.S. and the Israeli Embassy.
The attack was stopped, the plot unraveled. And the plotters? That would be, reportsNewsmax, two suspects arrested who are connected to "Iran's Quds Force, an element within Iran's elite Islamic Revolution Guards Corps that is known for carrying out operations beyond Iran's borders."
All of which is to say, Congressman Paul's theories about Iran have just been blown to smithereens.

Iran didn't use an air force to get to America -- it had an Iranian, American-naturalized citizen Manssor Arbabsiar -- already here.
Suppose instead of a plot to blow up a Washington restaurant -- among the charges -- with a conventional bomb, Arbabsiar and his cohort had managed to smuggle in a nuclear weapon? What did Paul write in his book The Revolution in addition to scorning the idea that Iran's Revolutionary Guard was a danger?
I had said all along that Iran posed no imminent nuclear threat to us or to her neighbors.
This time around, luck was on America's side. Iran didn't -- yet -- have the capacity to smuggle in a nuclear weapon. But they were within a whisker of getting a conventional bomb and killing hundreds --on American soil.
An act which all by itself could easily be defined as an act of war.
But the real casualty here?
The Ron Paul movement.
The congressman has just been shown to be wrong about Iran -- big time.
Fortunately for the intended targets, for conservatives and for America the only real casualty here is the Paul campaign -- and the naïve ideas that drive its leftist foreign policy crusade.

It appears to me that this proves Ron Paul is right. The threat was small, and also easily thwarted.

Oh boy, Jeffrey Lord being his imbecilic self again.

To begin with, this episode continues the FBI’s record-setting undefeated streak of heroically saving us from the plots they enable. From all appearances, this is, at best, yet another spectacular “plot” hatched by some hapless loser with delusions of grandeur but without any means to put it into action except with the able assistance of the FBI, which yet again provided it through its own (paid, criminal) sources posing as Terrorist enablers. The Terrorist Mastermind at the center of the plot is a failed used car salesman in Texas with a history of pedestrian money problems. Dive under your bed. “For the entire operation, the government’s confidential sources were monitored and guided by federal law enforcement agents,” explained U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, and “no explosives were actually ever placed anywhere and no one was actually ever in any danger.’”

Just another plot the FBI set up and then foiled. They are getting really good at that. Imagine all the plots that would be carried out if the FBI didn't exist! You will have a very difficult time even finding more than one where the FBI didn't set up the plot themselves. If anyone buys this idiots propaganda....

Because bombing Pakistan and Libya ain't an act of war, is it? But what you said is, right?

Ask this Jeffrey Lord @ the American Spectator

What about the plot to overthrow the entire nation of Iran when it was discovered that CONGRESS has been funding $100's of millions in Black OPS to infiltrate Iran's sovereignty and initialize a fabricated civil war to overthrow the government. Just like in Egypt, Libya, and Syria.

Jeffery Lord, if that's even his name, needs a job over at the CFR/AEI

If thats the case the US should have declared war on Saudi Arabia and Egypt since it was their nationals flying planes into buildings. Why did the US not invade Saudi Arabia and egypt?

this is like the brief poll uptick this May that our wise potus had for his people looking effective.
our great recession has not gone away at all & this winter starkly looms for many in a bad way.

Ain't no one I know that is buying it. Progs/Indies/Conservatives. Only the Neo's and they admit to a weak argument.

Whatever the case, Ron had better get a great soundbite response worthy for the upcoming debate.

They don't even trying to hide the conspiracy anymore...
If we say it happened then it did!
Buried at sea, sorry no pictures, now praise us!
The Ministry of Truth must be hard at work these days filling those memory holes...

I've often wondered that if most of the population found out "soylent green is people" and wouldn't care. Hell! They're fluoridating the water in my city, and for some reason people don't seem to care that... they are fluoridating the water in my city...

short term this will hurt; but by January it could not only help but win. but a Dec 6 NH primary worries me

As Paul predicted and truthers predicted, the next false flag is being stewed to justify the next leg of the war on terror/war to kill off our freedoms. In the latest plot, there's no proof that the Iranian is working for the Iranian government, no logic behind Iran fostering an assassination on US soil, no proof a formal 'plot' even existed, etc. Ah, but the facts don't matter, so long as the music is right---Iranian suspect, doing stuff right here in America, they're coming for us, so we have to attack!!

Update, several sources to the Alex Jones show reported today (Thursday, 10/13) that Israel has been given the go ahead to bomb Iran circa 2 weeks from now, using the Iranian/Saudi ambassador false flag as a pretext. Some congressmen have been given a prelim briefing on the attack, and the US has supplied Israel with bunker busting cluster bombs to accomplish the task. If accurate, this will lead to a steep uptick in oil prices with the follow-up embargoes that follow. This greater Mideast war and new oil crisis will in turn be used to create a pretext for the collapse of the dollar, a mega crash in the markets, and pretty much the fall of the US into economic ruin and martial law.

We gotta spread info everywhere about this case is full of giant holes and is probably fake. Hopefully it will be uncovered and paul will be shown correct.

Sounds like Jeff got it right and you got it bass ackwards. Correct me if you are not saying we need the FBI and they do not create these "terrorists" just to bust them.

In a jam on another site (trying to inform a bunch of neocons). Need someone to help me counter these question I am not to informed on the whole proxy thing and I am not to sure n a few other questions. Any help will be really appreciated and these are the questions.

Well, lets see. Iran has been involved in a proxy war against us.
Iran has threatened to use nukes on us as soon as they have it.
Iran has been manipulating the ME for years now, with the goal of full control.
Iran has been making deals with South America, you know weapons deals.
Iran has been manipulating certain aspects of Mexico.
Iran has threatened to use their "terror cells" here in the U.S.

As for the smoke and mirrors, that's all that RP has to offer. He's clueless about foreign affairs, and I guess he can't remember life prior to WWII or possibly was too stoned during the Cuban missile crisis to understand how the world works.

I find the one in bold the most comical as we (USA) have been the ones in the middle east trying to take full control.
