Bob Barr To Announce Presidential Run

The Politico is reporting that Bob Barr will officially announce his candidacy for the Libertarian Party’s Presidential nomination on Monday:
Bob Barr, the conservative former Georgia congressman, will announce next week that he’s running for president as a Libertarian, according to a source familiar with his plans.
Barr launched an exploratory committee last month and sent out a news advisory this morning touting a press conference next Monday at the National Press Club “to discuss his future plans and the 2008 election.”
Barr has raised just over $55,000 so far, according to his website. Much of the Libertarian energy this cycle is, of course, geared around Ron Paul. But Paul has said repeatedly he has no plans to run as a third-party candidate.
In seeming confirmation of this report, Barr will be speaking at the National Press Club on Monday morning:
