BJ Lawson will run again.

His district is unwinnable, and it's not good to become a consistent loser in elections, that will give him a bad reputation. He should run for State House, or move to somewhere where he CAN win. He is a great guy, a good candidate, but that district is too liberal for him to win. His only hope is that with redistricting coming up, he could run in a more conservative district if they redistrict where he lives.

I agree. He should not run again in 2012 in the same congressional district. Ideally, he should run for state legislature if the composition of his legislative district(s) would allow him to run a competitive race. State Senate would be preferable, but State House would also be good.

Agreed. He needs to realize an unwinnable situation and move on.

Lawson should only run again if they can redraw North Carolina's 4th District to make it more Republican. Actually, maybe I should talk to Glen Bradley about that.

I don't suppose he has a chance to go to a different district?

Regardless, I'll support him. He is my biggest regret over the last election.

I've heard from experts on the subject that any GOP-friendly (and/or incumbent protection) map of NC has to include something similar to the present 4th district, because dividing its (fast-growing) Democratic population among the surrounding districts might end up making them competitive.

he should run for state senate, state house, or nothing. if he didn't win this year, there is no chance that he will win in any other year.
