Biden’s war on freelancers hurts young entrepreneurs most

Biden wants to follow foolish California and ban freelancing — putting millions out of work

The Labor Department just imposed 300 pages of new regulations to reclassify many individual contractors as payroll employees.
CNBC claims this could help freelancers “recover lost wages.”

Why would the Biden administration put these jobs at risk? Because they think these entrepreneurs will be better off in a traditional job with standard benefits and access to join a labor union. But that would also take away the autonomy they value most. The Bureau of Labor Statistics found that 79 percent of freelancers prefer their current arrangements over traditional employment that would also take away their flexibility.

This is what Biden meant by Build Back Better? Better for whom?

As for the "Recovering Lost Wages"
Someone should look at the Billions being thrown into Ukraine and Ukrainian war...

Especially after Trump, and now Biden, and the fact that it is between these two in the upcoming "election", Fed.Gov says: "We Got This!" [as they skip around and dance and drink champagne].

If there is anything that could damage the Democrats and Biden admin this would clearly do it. No different than what Justin Trudeau is doing in Canada with his Carbon Tax while the food is expensive.

Either way, pick your poison, we've been moving toward fascism at an accelerated rate. At this point the people are more concerned about their team winning than they are principles based on freedom.

Some states will kick back, but they're moving in that direction too.

60% of young people want to start their own business. Hmm, I have been there more than once. I can tell you that starting and running your own business is no picnic. The rules, regulations, taxes, capital, employees,...make running a business very difficult. Last thing in the world I would do today is open a business that requires employees, a building, regulations.
Furthermore, society is crazy, so most likely your customer is crazy. The owner puts their entire self on the line trying to make a go of a business, employees think the owner is rich, the State skims sales tax off of every sale, property tax off of the building, and make you do the bookkeeping and act as their agent. The State's extorted skimming off the top is pure profit with no skin in the game and the State is in charge of you. They make more than you net.
The only certain thing these days is uncertainty.
Oh forgot to mention business insurance. Another scam. All that mandated insurance around us.
Thank God I am getting old.
With changing technology and AI, who knows what will be going on tomorrow. There is no security or stability.
WTF kind of business is a young person going to open up that will make them independent?
If being freelance opens your skills and business to the entire world at very little cost then you will be competing with those from other countries that have skills with little expense for start up and they don't need to make the money that you need to make.

Any person that thinks there is any security in a free lance job where the person paying you has no loyalty and can go to the cheapest bidder better get ready to be disappointed. Even if you are the best at what you do, if thousands or millions of people will do what you can do for much less, you will have to make much less to get the work.

Government cannot solve any problem. All they do is make the problem more complex by wrapping their tentacles around the problem so they can extort money and mandate rules and regulations.

Recover lost wages? What he's really trying to do is get more taxes.
