Biden’s plan to end gun violence

Joe Biden’s Plan to End Gun Violence

https://joebiden.com/gunsafety/#

“Hold gun manufacturers accountable. In 2005, then-Senator Biden voted against the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, but gun manufacturers successfully lobbied Congress to secure its passage. This law protects these manufacturers from being held civilly liable for their products – a protection granted to no other industry. Biden will prioritize repealing this protection.”

Don’t stop there,Joe! We need to hold manufacturers of cars, knives, hammers, baseball bats and 2x4’s civilly liable when their products are used to kill someone.

“Reduce stockpiling of weapons. In order to reduce the stockpiling of firearms, Biden supports legislation restricting the number of firearms an individual may purchase per month to one.”

Joe, you don’t want to allow people to buy TWELVE GUNS EVERY YEAR do you? A common sense gun law would only allow 3 per lifetime. Who needs more than one handgun, one rifle and one shotgun?

“Incentivize state “extreme risk” laws. Extreme risk laws, also called “red flag” laws, enable family members or law enforcement officials to temporarily remove an individual’s access to firearms when that individual is in crisis and poses a danger to themselves or others. Biden will incentivize the adoption of these laws by giving states funds to implement them. And, he’ll direct the U.S. Department of Justice to issue best practices and offer technical assistance to states interested in enacting an extreme risk law.”

That’s great Joe! Anytime anyone pisses me off for any reason I can make a phone call and get their guns taken from them!

“Give states incentives to set up gun licensing programs. Biden will enact legislation to give states and local governments grants to require individuals to obtain a license prior to purchasing a gun.”

Kind of like having to pass a background check. Only a great man like you could have thought of that, Joe.

“Require gun owners to safely store their weapons. Biden will pass legislation requiring firearm owners to store weapons safely in their homes.”

Don’t forget you’ll need to give cops the authority to go into people’s homes at any time for no other reason than to make sure their weapons are “safely stored”.

“Prioritize prosecution of straw purchasers. “Straw purchasers” buy a firearm on behalf of an individual who cannot pass a background check. Biden will end those loopholes by enacting a law to make all straw purchases a serious federal crime and ensure the U.S. Justice Department has sufficient resources to prioritize their prosecution.”

Psst Joe...that’s already a crime.

“Notify law enforcement when a potential firearms purchaser fails a background check. Too often, when prohibited persons attempting to buy a firearm fail a background check, state and local law enforcement is never informed of the attempt. As president, Biden will direct the FBI to set up a process to ensure timely notification of denials to state and local law enforcement, and he’ll support legislation to codify this process. This empowers law enforcement to follow up and ensure prohibited persons do not attempt to acquire firearms through other means.”

That’s not enough Joe. How about a year in jail for that 50 year old who failed a background check because he forgot about that disorderly conduct ticket he got when he was 18.

A 112 years ago, in 1907...our great grandparents were first able to buy the rifle pictured. The semi-auto Winchester Model 1907.

This is a gun they could buy from a Sears catalog and have delivered via USPS. It was/ is a semi-automatic, high powered centerfire rifle, with detachable, high capacity magazine.

About 400,000 of these were produced before WW2. Civilians had hundreds of thousands of these semi-auto rifles for 40 years, while US soldiers were still being issued old fashioned bolt action rifles.

The 1907 fired just as fast as an AR15 or AK47 and the bullet (.351 Winchester) was actually larger than those fired by the more modern looking weapons..

The ONLY functional difference between the 1907 and a controversial and much feared AR15 is the modern black plastic stock.

To summarize:

The semi auto, so-called "assault rifle" is 110 years old. It isnt new in any way.

The semi auto rifle was not a weapon of war. The government MADE IT a weapon of war 40 years after civilians had them.

The semi-auto can be safely owned by civilians. The proof is that literally 3 generations of adults owned and used them responsibly and no one ever even noticed.

Want to fix the horror of mass shootings? Fix the things that have changed for the worse in the last 50 years.

Because the rifle technology in question was here long before this insanity.

What a difference a couple of generations make. In WW2, soldiers could bring back functional automatic weapons as long as they paid the $200 tax. A friendly reminder in a 1946 Virginia newspaper.
SERVICE MEN MUST REGISTER EIREARM TROPHIES Returning servicemen who have brought certain types of firearms home with them or have sent them home, are required by law to register their war trophies and are subject to heavy penalties for any failure to do so, John H. Wickman, Investigator in Charge for Virginia, office of Alcohol Tax Unit, Bureau of Internal Revenue, explained today. Not all of the thousands of fire-arms-brought home by returning veterans are required to be registered, Mr. Wickman said, but he explained that owners of the trophies should contact, either by writing or in person, the office of the Investigator in Charge, Alcohol Tax Unit, 619 Parcel Post Building, Post Office box 1454, Richmond. Virginia, after which an Investigator of the Alcohol Tax Unit will be instructed to inspect the firearms in their possession, if such firearms are of the type and kind required by the provisions of the National firearms Act to be registered. He will explain how the firearm can be rendered permanently unserviceable without in any way destroying its value as a war trophy or souvenir. As long as a weapon is serviceable, the law requires a payment of a $200.00 tax on each sale, gift or other transfer of the firearm. If the gun is made permanently unserviceable, it may then be transferred as a war trophy without payment of the tax. Penalties of not more than $2,000.00 fine and imprisonment for more than five years, or both, are provided for each violation for failure to comply with the provisions of. this Act.

The current generation you can't bring so much as a bottle opener back without a proctology exam because you might scare the civilians.
How do I get this back?

Popular items include .50-caliber shell casings that have been converted into bottle openers or 105 mm artillery shell casings. These items are permitted to be transported back to the U.S. so long as the individual possessing the shell casings has them properly demilitarized and itemized on a DD form 603-1.

A different world.

Gun Control Laws ARE Gun Violence.

No, Biden wants a fully disarmed public because that will make it easy for ANYONE to invade.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms . . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes . . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.

- Thomas Jefferson

How many knives are in the kitchen drawer. How many hammers are in the toolbox. That’s right, they are not registered, and it is nobody’s business. Do-gooders believe that it is patriotic to tell .gov about their personal fire-arms and paid for permission via CCW. Stoopid is as stoopid does. That’s not my problem, it is yours. Time to wake up and smell the coffee. Read the 2nd A.

"Common Sense". Yeah, if people actually had that, they would understand that there is NO LAW which will stop a determined criminal from acquiring a gun, then using that gun to commit a crime. If they had "Common Sense", they would understand that gun laws only disarm the honest people.

This isnt Common Sense, this is BRAINWASHING. Repeating a lie so frequently that the very first thought that pops into a persons head is the literal words of the messages used, which is NEVER the thoughts of the brainwashed. Those people actually believe their conclusions are their own. They are not. They are scripted dialogues telling people what to think. "OMG why do you own a gun?" How often have you heard that in movies and tv shows?
