Public support for a strike on Syria has been low for quite some time. I'm not sure the hawks can sufficiently pressure Obama into it. Sure, they could pressure Bill Clinton into striking Iraq in 1998, but mass media was a very different beast at the time.

Vice President Joe Biden said current and former diplomats did not present any valid plans when they rebuked the Obama administration's policy on Syria.

Biden referred to a dissent channel report signed by 51 State Department advisers, who called for a military strike on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
