I already have a better version of this through my job. 100% salary for 8 weeks. I guess he wants to tax me to make sure other people can have it too. Honestly It's a really nice benefit and should be a lot more common in the US. This isn't his worst proposal.

Not sure how the numbers add up though. I'll assume there's some math backing it up I don't see yet.

Pay in 0.2% salary for 30 years = 6% of 1 year pay.
Two kids, 24 weeks at 66% = 26% of 1 year pay.

This just goes to show that Socialists are violent by philosophy and that no matter how many trillions they steal and print and borrow, it will never be enough. It's why Europe is in crisis mode financially.

Socialists are apparently the biggest discriminators too. So single, childless people will have to pay even more taxes to support other families?

this could be done voluntarily, by the private sector. either as direct payment or employee benefit.
