My ol grand dad said that "nothing is free, somebody has to pay for it." That thinking is pretty much dead today which is why most are drowning in debt.
 
His proposed tax on Wall street speculation is a largely uncollectible one that will only accomplish giving even more control of the markets to the big banks he is supposedly against.
 
That tax will work perfectly because the Rich have no choice but to stay where they are and take whatever comes at them.
