Bernie officially begins campaign in NH: his ideas "supported by a majority of Americans"

While we were ridding high at CPAC, he came around to dismiss Ron Paul's ability to win also threatened to run third party if Ron Paul got the nomination. Imagine what would have happen had a man like Trump backed the movement? Technically, he was never a liberty person so I can't really say he backstabbed us. But he also gave money and support to Chuck Schummer, Clinton, Pelosi, Harry Reid etc etc all who have been working against the liberty movement but some of us were able to look beyond all of that and saw what he is offering now. if you asked me, I think he did worse to the Ron Paul movement than what Bernie did to the progressive movement.

This is the same way pragmatic progressives will be able to forgive and forget what happened in 2016

I think that was a bait and switch cover. Fred Trump was a Bircher and I believe President Trump knows what is going on and has for a very long time.

I do not think Ron Paul had the temperament to deal with this political climate and his campaign taught a lot of people and made them wake up. Trump just bided his time. You cannot shut down a corrupted system over night and I believe Trump is striking, little by little, at the root.

Probably the strongest evidence that most Americans support Bernie's ideas is the fact that in 2016 both major parties nominated candidates to represent them who support Bernie's ideas.

Things can change quickly. In 2008, both Hillary and Obama were against gay marriage and Bush's wars. Never underestimate the swayability of large groups of people. The media is strong.
I understand but I also understand that Bernie is part of the propaganda, he is using the old trick of claiming that they have already won to demoralize us and get bandwagon jumpers to join "the winning team", the vast majority of Americans may not be liberty oriented enough but the outright commies like Bernie don't have a majority on their side.

Sadly, this will go over well with some here.
The left is often correct when they identify a problem, they just always have the wrong solution, the 1% and the .1% and the .01% and the .001% have stolen far more than their fair share to an ever greater degree ever since the creation of the Fed followed by the complete elimination of the gold standard and then ZIRP but the correct solution is to decrease government not increase it.

The trade wars are another matter entirely but they have been used by the rich and powerful to steal from everyone else too.

I disagree.

We'll see, I suppose.

Just to be clear, I keep harping on this "freedom is not popular" theme for a two reasons:

1 - I think too many of us operate in an echo chamber. I travel quite a bit and have contact with many people from all around the country and world. "Our" principles and philosophy is a tiny minority. Apathy, ignorance and collectivism is the norm.

2 - To poke and prod the remnant into understanding just how precarious our condition is, and to make plans "outside the box" for our literal, life and death, survival.

The rest of the world IS hopeless in my opinion, even the best places that are trending the right direction are generations away from where America is (which isn't good enough).

America is full of people who are not liberty oriented enough, I don't deny that, about half of them are even enemies of liberty, I just don't believe that the outright commies like Bernie have anywhere close to a majority, they are too extreme even for most of the Demoncrats.

I wish it weren't true, but I think Trump was right. Politicians in the U.S. don't get treated as legitimate if they don't bow down to AIPAC. Trump is all about being cozy with Israel. I would imagine that Trump has made a lot of money working with the jewish people of NY. Ron Paul is a man of principle and doesn't play the game.

Trump was unfortunately right, Ron Paul didn't win. Our loss. :(
