Kerry Bentivolio, the lucky candidate who ended up as the only Republican on the ballot for the 11th Congressional district because of a petition foul-up by U.S. Rep. Thad McCotter, R-Livonia, is taking no chances and began airing a television ad this week.


The $15,000 cable television buy is meant to thwart a write-in campaign by former state Sen. Nancy Cassis, R-Novi, who entered the race as a write-in candidate at the urging of Republican leaders in Oakland and Wayne counties.

Would have been nice to had time to get a grassroots moneybomb setup, but with the way this whole race began and the time between now and the August 7th primary, time is short. Maybe we on these forums, including social media can stir up a trickling in of donations to back up the money he has coming in locally, to get these ads running and increasing on the TV. Maybe a thread in central may be needed to keep people donating?
