I really think Dr Paul needs to come out and say that he not against birth control aside from federally funded birth control and do so clearly. The dems are using this as major ammo against not just Dr Paul but the republicans as a whole. This ficiticous "issue" brought on by Obama himself is really hurting womens opinion of Dr Paul, many women take birth control for medical reasons and as we all know Dr Paul is not against birth control but when he said "immorality of taking the pill" the dems are just running that clip over and over. Now clearly we all know Dr Paul was trying to explain that you can't legislate morality but they are using this as serious ammo against him. I just wish Dr Paul would explain this or talk about this more. This is pretty ridiculous that they have brought this forward as if its an issue when practically nobody is against birth control and there isn't even any legislation about it.

I don't think that stating this clearly on record would be bad for him with any voters because frankly nobody is actually against birth control (just federal/state funded birth control).

He already did. He said he's dealt with hormonal birth control for 40 years as an OB in the most recent debate (even endorsed the morning after pill), and said on CNN's State of the Union that he endorses hormonal birth control, and dinged Santorum, saying that when Santorum speaks of birth control, it's because Santorum wants to ban it.

EDIT: It was on CBS that he said it. Here's the correct video:

Starts around the 4:30 mark.

The press won't give this any play, and he also spoke out against Rush Limbaugh. The story?

"None of the Republicans will stand up to Rushbo"

Ron isn't even the 13th floor, he's the underground parking garage.

Ron Paul isn't against birth control. Women use that stuff all the time for more than avoiding pregnancy - it's used occassionally as hormonal control as well. Don't forget that Ron Paul says you can't blame birth control for immorality, just like you can't blame crime-relating shootings on guns.

The trouble is you and the launch post are correct because the media is painting Ron Paul into the same distorted picture with Santorum and don't expect them to do anything differently. They are slimey scumbags

It's good to keep in the back of our minds but I think Ron Paul will bury Obama in a debate or head-to-head contest. The focus is beating the rest of the field right now.
