BREAKING: Arizona Republican Party chair Jeff DeWit caught on secret recording trying to bribe Kari Lake not to run for the Senate.

Holy s***!

"There are very powerful people who want to keep you out," he said.

At one point during the secret recording, Lake was asked to name her "number."

DeWit: "Just say, is there a number at which..."

Lake: "I can be bought? That's what it's about."

DeWit: "You can take a pause for a couple of years. You can go right back to what you're doing."

Lake: "This is not about money, it's about our country."

WOW. :fire:

Just saw this. Wow.

We need names. DeWit is a typical swamp beast broker but he's not the root of it. Who is he speaking on behalf of?

Wonder who Dewitt is referring to when he says they will blow up his car when he turns his key in the ignition.

I'm not sure what to make of this. We live in an age of universal deceit, and what can be trusted? Perhaps that's the way that our global plutocracy wants it.

Who recorded this? Kari Lake sounds a bit too much like she knows it is being recorded. And how about more questions from Kari Lake? Like "who are we talking about here"? "Who is trying to bribe me?" How much money do they have? What "job" could they give me that would pay so well?

Now that this is out, there should be a lot of questions, including under oath questions for Jeff DeWit.

And it would be nice to know when this was recorded. References to DeSantis make it seem a bit old. How old? Why the delay in making this public?

They will never name names... Because it isn't really about "names". Even if you were able to pin down a name or two, those slots would be filled up immediately by others who are responding to the same incentives. There's a sort of consultancy class that tries to figure out the best path forward for whatever goal they're trying to acheive. In most cases, that goal is controlling more power.

So, they know what their bosses want to hear and they have an incentive to give their bosses good work. But it would be incorrect to assume that their bosses are pulling the strings. It's a mentality and an incentive structure that is pulling the strings. I think back to Mises' book Bureaucracy that describes the differing incentives that people respond to. Once bureaucratic incentives overtake market incentives, the game is already lost.

When this guy talks about "back east", he's talking about the group mentality that is responding to those bureaucratic incentives. There's a whole team of people who think the same way. Made up of consultants, bureaucrats, politicians, and other political operatives. It's the Soviet-style politburo and at the very top, they all look at each other trying to figure out what the other guys are thinking and the goal is to not be the odd one out.

Meh..

I don't like interference with the process, but...

Unnamed powerful forces want a lifelong Obama/Clinton carpetbagging democrat from losing another expensive election to the democrats.

Kari Lake is not Ron Paul.

Think Amy Coney Barrett minus the education.

DeWit resigned:

PHOENIX — Arizona Republican Party Chair Jeff DeWit resigned Wednesday after audio was leaked of him apparently offering Kari Lake a financial incentive to stay out of the 2024 U.S. Senate race.

DeWit’s departure comes as The Daily Mail, a British news organization, released audio on Tuesday from the March 2023 conversation between the two. DeWit, in announcing his resignation, said the clip was a “deceptive tactic” and a “selectively edited audio recording.”
