Ayn Rand…

Ayn Rand: “Further, it should be clear that I reject the filthy slogan “The end justifies the means.” That was originated by the Jesuits, and accepted enthusiastically by the Communists and the Nazis. The end does not justify the means; you cannot achieve anything good by evil means.”

Hmmm! The best Thomas Payne could say of the government he helped create was, it was but a necessary evil...

Might want to review the context... she was very harsh to anarchists and libertarians.

She also said that "Big Business" was America's "most persecuted minority" - and it's not like there aren't plenty of cringe-inducing "anarchists" and "libertarians" (or people who call themselves those things, anyway) who deserve harsh criticism (or at least some intense eye-rolls).

When Ayn Rand hit the nail on the head (which was more often than not), she did it with a sledgehammer - but once in a while, she missed her mark and hit her own thumb.
