According to my county chairwoman she stated that in order for a person to be a delegate with the Republican party they have to meet the following criteria:

Rule 1-13. “A qualified Primary Republican” refers to a voter who cast a
Republican Party ballot at the most recent primary election in which the voter
voted
, and who is in good standing in the election district in which the person giving
the proxy lives. An “election district” refers to:
(1) a county in the case of a county committee; or
(2) a county wholly or partially within the congressional district, in the case
of a congressional district committee or the state committee.

and

Rule 2-3. (a) No person shall be eligible for election for the office of precinct
committeeman at the Primary election or appointment thereafter unless the
individual:

(1) is a qualified elector of the precinct if elected; or qualified elector
of the county if appointed
(2) is a member in good standing in the Republican Party, and
(3) cast a Republican Party ballot at the individual’s most recent vote
at a primary election.

(b) An individual who has not previously voted in a primary election is not
disqualified as a candidate solely as a result of the individual’s absence of previous
primary voting history. (To contest the election or appointment of a precinct
committeeman see Rules 2-5 and 2-6)

This was taken from: http://www.indgop.org/rulesrevision06.pdf

She stated that however if after a person voted in this primary and there was a vacancy you could then fill it if you vote republican in this primary.

If you are filing for these slots please let me know we are trying to keep this info together state wide

Here is a nice strategy to f*ck back.

We should be able to get 6 people in each district that can align themselves on both the dem and rep side in convention in case the dems get to vote. That is 3 on each side in each district.

If the dems end up convening paul supporters can then vote for dennis k. on their second vote and screw up the whole process. While I do not agree with everything he stands for he is much better than killary or O"bomb"a. I do not believe that either will get a 51% on the first vote.

Lets show the establishment that Indiana CAN and WILL fight back! Don't screw with a Hoosiers right to vote we screw back!

Don't let these rules scare you. If you've never voted in a primary election before, then you'll probably be OK.

pay careful attention to this part:

(b) An individual who has not previously voted in a primary election is not
disqualified as a candidate solely as a result of the individual’s absence of previous
primary voting history. (To contest the election or appointment of a precinct
committeeman see Rules 2-5 and 2-6)

we have a state wide database going on to know where our strenghts and weeknesses are if you signing up as a delegate please let me know --we want to be able to have hoosiers have a say

Melissa, is there anyway for a precinct leader to find out who in his precinct is aPaul supporter so we can draft them as delegates? Since we only have 30 days, the clock is ticking.

not sure but that is why we are doing the state wide database so we can get an idea by next week were we are at in this game

  1. Search donor records at www.opensecrets.org
  2. Use the database in the Grassroots HQ to call people and find Ron Paul supporters.
  3. Contact HQ and request donor/volunteer information

Krippy, thanks, I should have thought of that. I filed just a few minutes ago and noticed I was the only one on the list filing for delegate. Of course, there was only one other name on there :P, he was filing for committeeman, I belive. It's funny how awesome it felt when I did it. The revolution will not be denied!

Yeah, I was incredibly excited after filing. I can't wait until the media has to report that Ron Paul wins all of Indiana's delegates.

So how do I get in contact with you?
I might not be a delegate but I am a supporter in Indiana.

Is there a particular reason you are not seeking to become a delegate? If you become a delegate, your vote will be worth thousands the amount a normal vote.

Drop me an email if you have any questions: [email protected]

I'll be registering, which district do you need?

Very true but there are some people that voted democrate in the last primary like myself and we cannot be delegates until we vote rep. in this primary. After the primary we can then contact the rep party and ask if they have openings in your district.

Not true. The rule specifically states that voting in another party's primary will not disqualify you. As long as you are in good standing with the party (read: dues paying member) you will be fine.

Please, go ahead and file to be a state convention delegate!
