The liberty side wants an end to endless intervention and adventurism abroad, sound money at home, restoration of civil liberties, and strict limits on federal power as per the Constitution. Same as it ever was. The establishment guys want us to abandon all that stuff, and conform to their sameo statism. They're only talking to the liberty grassroots now because it's not election season, and they want to head off another grassroots explosion that led to a bunch of 'unmanageable' tea party folks getting elected in 2010 and 2012.
And most amazingly, the establishment wants the grassroots to accept the top-down, corrupt insider primary system that cheated Paul out of caucus AND primary wins throughout the 2012 race. This experience was absolutely disgusting, and shocking to newcomer activists who were unfamiliar with how the system has used such tactics to suppress third party and alternative candidacies for decades. These people are not going to accept any more such corruption and want at least a fair fight in the Presidential primaries, not more 'hacks rule' shenanigins. Unless THEY compromise next time, the Reinces of the GOP have another bath to take in 2016.
